The whole story is based on the serial killer "Jeffrey Dahmer". It's a masterpiece directed by Paris Barclay.
Throughout the story, it brings out how society can make someone an offensive person.
Jeff's father is indeed the one who taught him to dissect the roadkill. But can something like that make a person a serial killer? No, jeff's father indeed had the same kind of feelings but he had learned to live with them without pulling his evil in front of himself. But for Dahmer, there was no one to teach it. His mother took many pills while on her pregnancy with Jeff and left an 18-year boy alone in a house after the divorce. Yes, the loneliness let out the monster inside Jeff. At first, it was not a monster, just a mere gay thought. But as it is said, if something happens once it's just something, twice a coincidence, thrice a proof. So the first two kills happened without a thought of murder. But for the third time yes a murder.
Here I'm not going to talk much about Jeff becoming a monster, a serial killer or whatever he is called afterwards. I'm going to talk about the society, the society that made him do it, the society that didn't help him to come out from it, the society that ignored the citizen's voices, and the society that killed him.Mainly talking about the police, the ones who have the authority to protect people, and save people. Did they do their duties well? Hell NO. The American police are rubbish. But it is the same for other countries also. Most police officers act the same way whether it is American or not. I'll prove my point with some points
1. Jeff was first arrested for an attempt of abusing a boy, and his father wrote a letter asking for the psychiatric help Jeff needed. And during the year he was held in the prison he received nothing.
2. When the Konerak boy was discovered on the road, uncovered and bleeding police rejected on investigating the incident happened. They just stayed in one part story and just ignored the complaints. I mean that can be gay stuff or whatever but the boy was bleeding! And it's common sense that it showed that there had happened something bigger than just mating.
3. Glenda ( I'll talk about her later) called the police multiple times informing them about an odd stench coming from the vent. And no one cared about it.
4. And talking about the prison officers they'll do whatever the shit for just a cent. when Jeff started to repent of his sins and when he is ready to start a new life he was killed by another prisoner because of the prison officer's fault. In my POV that officer should also be found guilty of favouring murder. I'm not saying that Jeff is innocent but a prisoner has no right to take his life for whatever he did, and when he is paying his years in prison for his wrongdoings! And also talking about the prison librarian. How can she give documents to a prisoner that is restricted to get them? The act of media is also something that should be talked about. Yes, they can cover up incidents. But how they do their job is something to talk about. To increase their views, their popularity media channels will do anything. It is a universal truth. They made up stories, and prove them according to their will. In Jeff's story media works as a medium for spreading hatred. At the same time, they interview Jeff. I'm pretty sure the sole purpose of it is just popularity but it is a good thing to let people know his side of the story. (Though some people are not ready to listen to it)
Nowadays showing sensitive content in media had become a trend. Idk why actually. If a person with mental instability that can make them a different person in one shot. John Wayne Gacy proves the point. Yeah, indeed, Netflix is also doing the same thing. (lol)When a pandemic happens some people start to make a profit from it.
1. Reverand Jesse Jackson, Sr., the civil rights activist
In my POV he comes to the scene not only because the victims are humans but because most victims are black and brown. And it is a part of his election campaign.
2. The comic book writers
They started to give unnecessary popularity to the scene. That finally made Jeff a hero, a celebrity and because of that people, mostly teenagers become fans of him. Can someone think about becoming a fan of a serial killer? Gosh. And it is said that Jeff also had read a comic about a serial killer. In the plot, it doesn't say that it directly connects with his murderous thoughts. But it might stay in his inner brain(to be continued......)
