Lies and Secrets

As much as I wanted the return ring I wasn't going to argue with him. I reached into my pocket and gave him the return ring. He shoved it into his pocket and we started heading towards the white void. While we were walking I asked both of them "What is your plan when we get to the time machine? What's your guys' game plan?" Young Me looked confused and said "Time machine what are you talking ab-? You know what, never mind I figured it out. As for what we are going to do when we enter the portal I might want to tell you something."

We enter the White Void and I see Young Me whisper something in Young Racheal's ear. Afterwards she whispers something back after they're done no one says anything. We reach the time machine and enter. Young Racheal was the last one though and she closed the time machine destroying any way of crossing between here and The Land of Time. Well beside the return ring but that's in his hands now. Young Me sat down and asked "Do you have any idea why your so important?" I nodded no. He said "Because you can use time. I thought about whether I should keep this information from you but after discussing things with Racheal I thought I'll just tell you. The reason why you time travelers are important is because your the only two who actually have a place in time." I asked him to elaborate. He sighed and said "Basically when we touch time we disappear never to be seen again but when if you two touch a time you existed in you can live in that time periods as yourselves as if this place never existed."

I see I told him "Basically if I touch the day I was born I respawn as a baby. He smiled and said "Even better you get to keep your memories when you go back. The Twelve are trying their best to avoid the facts but you two are the only way to get time moving again we just need to find when time broke and send one of you two there." I had to ask "Wouldn't you need both me and Racheal? It's not like I broke time solo." He shook his head and said "Nope when we remove one of the blocks time will flow again it will just be slightly slower and I think we can handle that."

So that's it. That doesn't really help me but now I know that Young Me doesn't know about John. Maybe I'm being greedy but I still believe there is an alternative. He looked at me and said "So now that I told you why you're so special can you tell us when time broke." I think I can play this off. I know exactly when it is but there's no way I'm going to destroy everything I worked on. I just have to tell him an answer that sounds correct. I don't think he's dumb enough to think I don't know I told him "If I were to guess I would assume it was the day the time machine was invented it's just the most likely option." He put his hand on his head and said "You're useless. It's ok though as long as we can figure out the time you actually broke time travel then we can need your help."

I don't appreciate being called useless but it looks like he fell for it. So I asked him, "How do you plan on finding out when time broke?" He put on his chin and said "I don't know I just figured you knew." And he called me useless. Regardless this is a good thing it means he won't be on my case about John. That being said we still need some sort of plan whether it be about Racheal or some alternative on fixing time. I think I'll keep the fact I'm looking for an alternative a secret for now if I say that he might catch on that I'm not giving him all my info.

I would ask about Racheal but he seems pretty determined to keep us separated. I guess I'm still on my own. I should probably ask more about how time works depending on the info he gives me it can help both cases.

Maybe I should look at the twelve. I don't think the young ones are on my side yet. I looked for the paper and found it. I skimmed through the twelve then I saw 11. It turns out she died but Young Racheal never gave me a reason why maybe Young Me would be different. I ask him "Do you know what happened to 11." He flinched a bit then responded "Nope we were just told they died in a tragic accident."

I can't tell whether he's lying or not but I can tell they have some sort of history. I think I'll dig into it. I put down the paper and said "Then I will look into the case of 11's death." Young Racheal looked at me in terror and yelled "Why in the world would you want to know what?!" To be honest I don't really care about it. I just wanted to see where these two are in the spectrum of friend or enemy.

Still I had to lie to them about it and I had just the lie I explained "11 is the only other twelve that has died beside 2 that we just killed it's safe to assume we don't know much about what happens to them or there bodies if we research the death of 11 it will help us understand what we're dealing with."

Young Racheal looked hurt. Young Me just tried to cover his face. He then said " Fine, I will Research what happened to 11." Young Racheal stood up and said "No way there's no point in researching this 2 is dead and that's all there is to it ." Why is she so passionate about it? Either way I'm digging up something and I believe it will be useful. I told them "There's actually two problems with your statement. One knowing about how the twelve die is super important we might be giving ourselves false security and secondly you two don't have a plan B and I'm not just going to sit around doing nothing."

Young Racheal looked at me in defeat then sat down but when she sat down she said "How do you plan on researching 11's death?" I have no idea to be honest but it's obvious there's some details there not telling me. The problem is how to prick it out of them.

I spoke up and said " Will use 3 as an experiment. Will study him and figure out how the 12 work."
