It was Graduation Day, Class 3-E had just killed their teacher the night before and were currently in their graduation ceremony. Nagisa's mind wasn't focused on that at all though.
After all, he had just seen his best friend die. The best friend in question, Kaede Kayano was indeed alive, thanks to a miracle. Their teacher whom they had just collectively killed saved his best friend from certain death as his last act.
However, even if his friend was alive he couldn't get over seeing her lifeless body drop to the floor, blood gushing out from her chest while maniacal laughter played in the background. The sight of a giant hole bored through her chest left Nagisa speechless, with only tears welling up in his eyes.
'She's dead' he thought to himself as he picked up her lifeless body and rubbed his eyes.
He was unable to show his true emotions as it would only cause his teacher more pain. The same teacher was fighting for his and his students' lives against impossible odds.
He could only gaze downwards, her chest cleanly pierced with only blood dripping out. If one looked at an angle they would surely be able to see her internal organs.
(Cut back to the present)
As his name was called it was as if he was on autopilot. His mind was still thinking about yesterday night yet his body moved to get his graduation certificate and bow. His face displayed a lifelessness which was a common trend among his classmates as they were all thinking about yesterday night, unable to process the death of their beloved teacher and his miraculous last act which saved one of his students' lives.
Eventually, the ceremony was done and the students began making their way onto the buses.
While the news tried their hardest to interview the grieving Class 3-E they were stopped by an unlikely ally. Class A had surrounded Class E in order to peacefully bring them onto the bus and each of the students from Class 3-E slowly boarded the bus.
Nagisa's mind was still on last night as he couldn't get rid of the image of his best friend dead. The more he remembered the gruesome image the faster he realised his hidden feelings.
He loved Kayano.
He thought to himself that he probably wouldn't have ever realised his feelings for her if not for her unfortunate death, the only positive of that night being that it resulted in the awakening of his love for Kayano.
It was unfortunate timing as the class would be going their separate ways, with the best friends being split apart as they went to different high schools. However he did not care.
The blue haired boy couldn't hold in these feelings, he couldn't let her leave him. Not again.
Kayano thought to herself that it was strange that Nagisa had gotten off with her but she didn't mind. She wanted to spend more time with him before they were ripped apart, not being able to see each other for months.
So the fact that he thought the same pleased the girl. However what she didn't know was that her best friend had ulterior motives for getting off at her place. He wanted to get these feelings out before it was too late, before Kayano had found someone she loves. After all, he couldn't guarantee that she would remain single by the time they were done with high school, she was a beautiful and talented girl who could get anyone she wanted.
So before she found someone, he needed to shoot his shot.
"Kayano, I have something to tell you" He nervously said with a tinge of pink in his face.
"Oh okay, you can tell me" She replied with a smile, her cheerful nature clearly showing. In her head she wished, she wished that he was going to say what she wanted, no. What she NEEDED him to say.
After a deep breath Nagisa finally spoke "Kayano...I-I l-lo-love y-you" His nervous nature remained present during this confession as he stuttered out those words as his face turned a bright red.
Kayano's face had become much redder than his, those words. The ones she wanted him to say for almost 3 months. Had finally been spoken.
"I only found out when I held you in my arms, when you died..... Don't leave me again...please... don't leave me..." He added on, tears welling up in his eyes as he recalled the tragic event.
Tears began welling up in her eyes, unnoticed by Nagisa who looked down at the floor. Too emotional to look her in the eyes as he confessed.
"Y-you i-idi-idiot, I-I l-lo-love y-you to-too. A-And d-don't wo-worry, I-I'll n-never l-leave y-you" She stuttered out, her face even redder than before.
Her response made Nagisa's head flick up 'She does!?' he thought to himself. Unable to process what she just said.
"Y-you d-do?!?" He asked, clearly shocked by her answer.
"Y-Yeah I-I d-do, I-I'm su-surprised you haven't noticed, everyone else in class has" She chuckled as she teased the boy.
"O-oh, that makes me feel dumb" He replied, a small smile appearing on his face as his blush died down.
"Well, you didn't notice for almost 3 months, so you're pretty dumb" she teased him again.
"Kaya-. No, Akari, I love you so much" Nagisa simply stated as he embraced his new girlfriend.
The fact that he called her by her true name caused her to blush. This meant that he truly accepted her, making her happier than what she thought was possible. She tightly hugged him back "I love you too, Nagisa"
The pair slowly lifted their heads and pushed them closer. The lips pressed against each other as they shared their first kiss as a couple. The two kissed for a solid minute as the hit count slowly but surely built up to 70 hits.
As the two pulled away saliva fell from their lips which they promptly wiped away, Akari was blushing harshly while Nagisa had a much more composed blush, clearly showing who the expert is between the two.
Nagisa simply smiled at the blushing Akari, whom he thought was cuter than ever.
However the lovebirds had to split as Nagisa had to go home.
"While we're at highschool, can we meet at least once a week" Nagisa asked his girlfriend, clearly showing he wanted to see her. A lot.
"Yeah, let's try meet up more than that though" Akari responded as they shared another passionate but short kiss before the love of her life began his walk home. Leaving her standing there.
"I love you!" She shouted at him, she really didn't want to split up and neither did he but the world wouldn't make exceptions.
"I love you too!" He shouted back, he gently smiled at her before turning around the corner as he walked home.
(End of the one shot, tried making it bittersweet but I'm not sure how it went. Probably badly I assume. Should I make a lemon chapter? I have no problem with it but I wanna know if anyone wants one)
