Ava:
I sat in the Hogwarts Express with Hermione, Ron, and Harry. Waiting for the train to move out of Kings Cross. "We can be glad that we found ourselves a compartment." I started a conversation. "Otherwise we had to sit on the floor outside, like some first year's last year."
Hermione looked up and watched me. "Well, I guess the only one who would have gotten a seat would be Harry," she said. "As if anyone would let the chosen one sit on the ground." We all laughed and the train began to roll. "Thank God. It's a miracle that this old thing still moves." Harry said. We all agreed with a nod and Hermione continued reading her book. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the only book she took with her. Last year half of her suitcase was full of books.
I looked outside at the fields and water passing our way. It was always so breathtaking to see those views. It started raining and I just looked outside. It was so beautiful. The rain was falling on the windows and it made the best sound ever. I've always liked the rain. It was kind of my favorite weather. I closed my eyes and only focused on the rain and the train sounds.
When I opened my eyes again, I realized that I was leaning on Harry's shoulder. I must have fallen asleep. The weather outside changed and the sun was shining in the windows. Harry next to me recognized that I had woken up and smiled. I smiled back at him and got up. "I'll be back in one minute," I said leaving the compartment. I walked to the toilets with my eyes on my shoes. Last year I walked into a gum on the floor and I did not want it to happen again. I was close to the toilets and walked against a wall. Since when is there a wall? I asked myself and looked up. I was staring into a blue-gray pair of eyes. He looked down at me with disgust. "Can't you watch where you're going, Lupin?" Malfoy snapped at me. "I'm sorry," I said shyly looking at my shoes again. He watched me slowly. "It's okay. But watch where you're going next time," he said placing two fingers under my chin and pulling my head up. "We don't want that to be happening again, are we?" he asked staring at me. I shook my head and tried to look away. "Good." he let go of my chin and walked past me. "The fuck." I whispered to myself while entering the bathroom.
I didn't remember Malfoy being that attractive in the past 5 years. What did I miss?
Walking back to my compartment, I tried to figure out what was going on with Malfoy. He was nice to me. Weirdly, I guess. Entering the compartment I sat back down next to Harry. He smiled at me and I smiled back looking at the compartment door all the time. "Is something going on Ava?" Ron asked me. "No. Not that I remember." I said smiling. Malfoy passed our compartment out of nowhere. And held on for a few seconds. Harry and he were battling with their looks for a moment. When Malfoy finally went, he winked at me while walking away. Everyone saw it. "Did he just wink at you?!" Harry asked shocked. "No?" I said shyly. "Of course he did!" Ron said. "Why?" Hermione asked. "I'm not saying anything," I answered them. They all looked at me in shock. Not 2 minutes after that, they shot me with questions. Asking what happened between us. If I found out anything about the death eater thing. They even asked if we kissed. Do I look like someone who would kiss her enemy? Please. This was so childish. I didn't answer any of their questions.
As we arrived at Hogwarts, it rained again. The four of us took place in a carriage and drove to Hogwarts. Luckily, they didn't ask any more questions about Malfoy.
Sitting in the great hall, Dumbledore started his speech again. I couldn't focus because I felt someone staring at me. I slowly looked through the crowd of students and met eyes with Malfoy. Again. He smirked at me and I couldn't get my eyes off him. He looked so different. He looked like a man. Not that little boy who bullied everyone.Draco:
Lupin changed. But not like a bad change. She looks like a woman. I never recognized that. She wasn't as talkative as she was 2 years ago. She knew when to be quiet. I was almost impressed with her look. Her brown long hair fell on her shoulders. Her blue eyes were brighter than before. And I didn't talk about her curves and other new body features. They have grown within the last 2 years. I was still staring at her. I didn't know what it was, but I couldn't get my eyes off her.
While Dumbledore was still speaking, which was boring. I realized that Lupin was talking to her friends. Potter, Weaselbee, and the Mudblood. How can she like those people? Sure they're in Gryffindor. Potter's father was her godfather. Weaselbee and her spent their whole childhood together. But the mudblood? Merlin, I hope they'll be enemies soon. As Dumbledore finally ended his speech, every student began to eat. But I didn't feel like eating. I saw Lupin leaving the great hall. I turned to Mattheo. "I'll see you in the common room," I said and followed Lupin. She walked randomly through the castle. I thought she didn't even have a place where she wanted to go. She then stopped in a corridor.Ava:
I knew he was standing behind me. "Why are you following me?" I asked slowly. "Why not?" Malfoy replied. "You're not the Malfoy that I remembered," I said. "You mean, I'm not the same?" he asked. No, why would you think that? As if I didn't say it like that. That's what I thought. But I couldn't say it like that. "Yes. You were different back at the yule ball 2 years ago." I answered, thinking about what happened. "You mean our kiss right?" he asked. I looked at him. "Don't say that out loud!" I spoke. "No one will hear us. They're all at the feast." Malfoy said. "Besides, why aren't you there?" he asked. "Am I not allowed to leave?" I answered. He laughed softly. "You're right," he said. I looked at him confused. "Well, I'm going to bed," I said turning around. "Good night, Malfoy."
And then I walked away. He didn't stop me. And I was happy about that.
I walked to the Gryffindor common room and went directly upstairs to the girl's dormitory. I entered my room and began to make myself ready for bed. I changed into my pajamas and brushed my teeth. I had a room on my own. I was glad about that. A roommate would've probably made me sick. I wasn't that good with people. I had Hermione, Harry, and Ron but I wasn't able to make any new friends. As I lay down on my bed, I recognized a letter next to me. I took it and opened it. I began to read it and I knew exactly who sent it.Lupin, I know we didn't always come along. But the night we kissed at the yule ball was magical. I'm not questioning that. Don't you ever forget about that night! You understand me? I also would like to invite you to a party. It's on Sunday. Slytherins are celebrating the beginning of the school year. Everyone is welcome but I would like you to come. It starts at 8 p.m in the room of requirement. Don't be late. I hope you come.
~D.MWhy was he like that? What changed his mind about me? I put the letter aside, knowing that I'll be at that party in two days. With these last thoughts about Malfoy, I fell asleep.
