"What do you mean I have to marry him!?"
"Do you want me to repeat myself?" Elizabeth asked.
Catalina's mother had called her downstairs to her office to talk and what she didn't know was that her mother was about to drop a big bomb on her.
"Mamá! I can't marry him! One, I don't even know him and two, this is not my fight. I told you to not drag me into your business discussions."
She had always told her mother to not involve her in any of the family businesses. Ever since she knew what her parents did for a living and the amount of "wars" they would get into, she wanted nothing to do with it.
And right now the worst thing that could ever happen to her is coming true.
She has to marry Alex the son of Christopher turner, the head of CT incorporations.
"It's the only way, hija." Her mother speaks softly. Understanding where she's coming from but there were no other options for her nor the company.
"Right." She sighs in frustration, crossing her arms over her chest "Papá would never let that happen."
"He's not here anymore, Catalina." She sighs, getting up about to speak again but one of the maids knocks. "Come in."
"Ms. machado, Mr. turner and his son have arrived."
"What!" she lets out a shriek, "So you're just giving me up like that? Not even giving me a heads up?"
"Relax." She turns to look at the maid, "Would you please lead them to the living room and tell them to wait for a few minutes?"
The maid nods and leaves. Her mother then turns to look at her daughter and gives her a sympathetic look.
She feels her heart break over the fact that she's using her daughter for business matters but if she had other solutions she wouldn't of have brought the whole marriage conversation in the first place.
She then walks over to her and grabs her hands, "Perdóname." She apologizes. "You know that I would never ever put you in a position like this one on purpose."
Catalina sighs with a nod, "Yeah, I know." Her mother smiles at her and gives her a hug which she returns back. "But don't think i'm still mad at you, ma."
She laughs, "I know. But now, go get dressed. We don't want them to see you in your pjs." She pushes her out the door, "and don't let them see you."
With a nod she leaves and quietly runs up the stairs up to her brothers room. She has to tell him everything that just went down.
Good old sister and brother talks.
"Brother!" She swings the door open, "No te vas a creer lo que me paso and- oooookay!" She stops in her tracks as she sees her brother, Mateo and some random guy quickly cover each other with the blanket.
