The alarms were blaring. The sirens were blinding the usually dark hallways, guards spilling onto the hallway. He finally escaped and he is ready to go home at any cost. A shield appeared behind him, and Mattheo ensured he couldn't get shot from behind. He heard shouting in a nearby corridor.
Mattheo got to a point on he didn't know where he was anymore, his knowledge of the hallways had run out. "Get down now!" Is what was shouted down the hall, Mattheo was terrified. If he was caught, his treatment would get worse. "Fucking christ. I need to find him." Mattheo dashed down the opposite way of the shouting, the voices coming closer. His legs wanted to give out, he's been running for at least an hour, although he didn't know for sure. The time seemed to blur for him.
Making it to a room, it seemed empty. There was a relief for a few seconds until he heard footsteps coming from every hallway that led into that room. He panicked, he didn't know what to do. He looked around everywhere. Nothing. Then he looked up. It was glass that seemed to overlook the outside world. It was night and perfect for Mattheo.
He could feel them outside. This was his last resort. He called out to the shadows, and they managed to break the glass. The guards reached the room and opened fire, but he was gone just before the bullets got to him. He wished that he would have done this sooner. He appeared in a nearby forest from the base, though he was near the front with four guards on each side of the door.
The guards don't see him, so he runs into the forest. He ran until his legs gave out. "Where do I start?" He looked to his left, talking to nothing but the shadows. They seem to shrug, and he sighs. "I can't wait to meet him. According to the guards, he is in Japan." Mattheo kicks his legs like he is a schoolgirl. He made a quick camp and rested till morning, his shadows on guard for any of the guards from his prison.
Morning came slowly, which Mattheo enjoyed. His body needed the full rest. As the light woke him up, he smiled for a new day. "Let's go find the Jet Black Wings." He told the shadow, who turned into a small cat that followed him. He didn't know where to start, hell he didn't even know where he was. He thinks California, but he isn't sure.
Hours of walking got him to a beach. "I don't think California has any forests that lead to beaches." He told the shadow, who just tilted its head. He looked at the water to his reflection. Tanned skin, green eyes, and messy brown hair...he forgot what he looked like. He was wearing prison clothes still, with torn-up shoes and socks. He took off his socks and shoes and went into the water. The shadow waved and bid him goodbye. Mattheo waved back.
Water was another thing he could control. After fully being emerged into the water, he swam at a speed no human could achieve. He didn't know what direction he was going in. He stopped at several lands, but none of them were Japan. The closest he made was China, by then he knew a general direction of where to go.
It has been days and minimal food. He was used to this, he went by the same food schedule as his imprisonment, two meals a day. Breakfast and dinner. He eventually made it to Japan. He stole some clothes to change out of, and he was just going to become barefoot.
He thanked the water. Luckily, no one was around this beach at night. He had to walk a little more before he could rest for the day. He walked and walked, trying to find a place to sleep in hiding. He couldn't find one. His body screamed at him, so he walked to a spot somewhat secluded and fell asleep. That morning, three boys looked over him. One with pink hair and weird things in it, one with a weird haircut, and one with blue hair and bandages.
Mattheo looked at the blue-haired person and smiled. "It's you. The Jet Black Wings!" Mattheo stood up. He towered over the fellow, "Oh, I thought you'd be taller." He smiled, "I'm Mattheo Heart, I escaped to get you help."
The weird haircut one laughed while the pink-haired one seemed to roll his eyes. "Whats wrong?" Mattheo asked The Jet Black Wings. "How do you know about that?"
