[3rd person POV]
It was the day before Christmas, 24th December. Kevin wasn't working today due to Christmas break. He was strolling in the park, having a calm and relaxing day. It was snowing, the kids were cheering and having fun around him, people were in the Christmas spirit and so was he. He was bringing a small bag of Candy Canes to give away to the children around him. It may not seem like it but he enjoys seeing children's smiles especially from the candy he gives away, it's one of the reasons he works at a Candy store, all he wants to do is make kids smile. Unfortunately, sometimes children can be a pain in the ass but he tries to stay patient. As he was giving away candy, he saw someone right in the corner of his eye, someone familiar. He looked over to the figure to have a closer look. It was Rick! His old co worker that worked with him before. Rick had quit when it was Halloween though, they haven't seen much of each other since but Kevin have always liked the guy when they were working together.
Rick was sitting on a bench, not really doing much. He was looking at the people around him. He had his neutral careless face as usual. Kevin was hesitant to approach Rick but hey it doesn't hurt to meet an old friend huh? Plus they have went out drinking with Radford before Rick started working with Kevin so they're already quite close.
Kevin walked up to Rick with a light smile, "Hey there! What a coincidence running into you here, huh?" Kevin tried to greet Rick in a natural way.
Rick looked over to Kevin, "Oh, it's you..".
"Yeah! Is anyone sitting here?" Kevin points to the spot beside Rick.
"No. Go ahead." Rick answered.
Kevin sat beside Rick. "What brought you around here?" Kevin asked, trying to start up a conversation.
"I thought it'd be nice to get some fresh air." Rick replied with a neutral tone as always. He was planning to stay in all day but heck he didn't want to make his life more depressed than it already is, plus its almost Christmas. He should try to live at least.
"What about you?" Rick replied back.
"I always come around here when it's near Christmas. I like to spread some joy, it's the least I could do in this big planet." Kevin said with a gentle smile.
"That's thoughtful of you." Rick replied, still not showing any kinds of emotions.
"Speaking of Christmas, do you have plans on Christmas?" Kevin asked, tilting his head as he looked over to Rick.
"I plan to just stay at home and watch Christmas movies all night." Rick answered.
"What about your family? Are you not going to spend time with them?" Kevin asked again.
"I don't really have one." Rick answered in his usual neutral tone.
"Wait- you celebrate Christmas alone??" Kevin was a bit surprised. Spending Christmas time alone is not really a happy display.
"Yeah." Rick replied.
"And you're ok with that??" Kevin asked.
"You get used to it." Rick replied.
"Th-thats even more depressing-!? N-no offense- I just-.. No one deserves to spend Christmas time alone." Kevin said in a concerned way.
