Book is about a Vampire and Vampire Hunter.
The Lopez family. Ava and Theodore, usually known as Theo, are the children of Isabelle and William. William is a heir of the first vampire, The Elder's. Isabelle was a human who fell in love with William and desired to become a vampire. Ava was adopted at the age of 16 and became a vampire at the age of 22. Theodore was adopted at the age of 15 and became a vampire at the age of 25. He's close to a century old now, but Ava isn't. Ava was 16 when she was adopted in 2008. Ava has been through a lot in her teenage years, not until The Lopez adopted her.
Olivia Miller, 29, is a detective by day, but at night she discreetly hunts with her family, looking for creatures that can only be seen at night. Sophia, 43, and James, 46, are her parents. They are both hunters, as are their parents. Hunting monsters is believed to run in their bloodline, and they had adopted Liam who is 23, after learning that his parents had been murdered by a Vampire. So they adopted him as their own kid, revealed the family secret to him, and promised him that they would slay the Vampire who was the cause of his parents' deaths. He did suffer some discrimination because he was black, but the Millers were there for him at all times. Hunting Vampires is one thing, but hunting Vampires for hatred is what the Millers did. Liam's parents were killed because of the Vampires, as were James' parents, Olivia's, and Liam's grandparents.
Now What happens when Olivia meets Ava, who is a Vampire and changes everything in Olivia's life. Her perspective on whether all Vampires are monster and kill humans for their satisfaction or only some.
Story takes place in New Orleans. 2016 Time Zone.
