Prom Night Part I

June, Week 2 - 8 MONTHS 3 WEEKS

Demetria was running around her room looking for the clothes that she would need while she was in New York. She would be leaving in three days for her friends' graduation. Her graduation was the next day, her prom being the one after that so she didn't have much time to pack in the next few so she had to do it all now. "...toothbrush. hairbrush, comb, scrunchies... I think I have everything."

"No you don't." Nicki had been standing in Demi's room doorway for the past twenty minutes watching the girl run like a crazed person.

"What. What am I missing?"

"Those two dresses." Nicki said pointing to said objects hanging on to the closet door. Demetria smacked her forehead thinking of how she could be so forgetful. She had told herself to let be the very first things to pack as she knew that might forget them if she didn't. They were for her friends' graduation and prom.

When shopping with Nicki, she had asked why she couldn't just wear the same dresses that she was to her own prom and graduation. Nicki looked at the girl like she was crazy. "You can't wear the same dresses. Damian is going to see you in all of them and he's going to both proms with you. You can't have two sets of pictures in the same dress to look back on. No way am I letting that happen." Normally, you wouldn't be allowed to go to another school's prom but as Demi was a well appreciated and well liked student she was given permission to go. It also helped that Nicki was an alumnus and was going to be the entertainment for the night.

Once the dresses were prepared for the trip to New York, Nicki told the girl to get some sleep as she wouldn't be getting all that much in the next few days. The girl tried to fight her guardian on this matter saying that she had other things that she had to pack. The elder told the younger to get her butt in bed and that she would handle everything and that the young girl shouldn't stress.

Giving Nic a chance, Demetria got into her bed and turned the light out. She closed her eyes and let the soothing sound of Nicki humming as she packed the rest of the items lull her to sleep.

PROM

The girls on the dance team were all at Nicki's house to get ready for the prom. Although, they were spending more of their time goofing off then actually getting ready.

Most of them didn't have a date to prom but that didn't matter because they would all be hanging out with each other in the end.

"Alright ladies. You have another hour so hurry it up in there," Nicki said walking by the bedroom door on her way down to the kitchen to get some cereal for Robbie. The 8 month old in question however was sitting on his older sisters bed observing and occasionally laughing at the girls when they did something that entertained him.

The girls stopped messing with each other and started putting the finishing touches to their looks.

The door bell rang just as they finished and Nicki called the girls down. Demi grabbed Robbie on her way out the room and followed the girls down to the main entrance. The girls who didn't have a date would be driven to the dance by Nicki in her limo.

When Demi got to the bottom of the stairs, she handed Robbie off to his mother before looking to the door. She watched as guys filled into the room and walked to their designated dates. The last guy came in and there was no Damian. The young girl's heart broke. He promised that he would be there. Nicki had even guaranteed that he would be there so she didn't understand why he wasn't. She has seen him just yesterday.

She looked over to her guardian with a questioning look. "Don't worry. Damian is keeping his promise. I even picked him up from the airport. He couldn't be here but you'll see him at the dance." Mik and Bri started soothingly rubbed circles around their friend's back when they saw how upset she was that her boyfriend hadn't come to pick her up.
