"Tzelohimon!"
My eyes were wide. Hiro gasped. Ruri stared. RobinHoodmon and MusosIatreiamon had gone guppy-faced.
Was this...
The Digimon had ram horns instead of antennae as her warm brown eyes looked at us. Her ram face had a gentle smile while she slowly landed on the water near the beach, her crystal wings reflecting the fireworks exploding in the sky beautifully. Her red insectoid body glistened above the water, white legs touching the water.
"It has been a while, Soluneos."
My eyes widened. "E-Eosm-"
I was interrupted by both Robinhoodmon and MusosIatreiamon zooming straight for her, hugging with tears streaming down their eyes.
"H-How?! How is this... P-possible?" MusosIatreiamon stammered.
"We were so sure that... That you were a goner..." Robinhoodmon whispered. "Even Young and Beom couldn't... They couldn't figure out how to save you before their deaths."
"'“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”' Matthew 20 verse 16, New International Version," She answered.
"The last will be the first and the first will be last....? Hang on, don't tell me!" My eyes widened.
It all clicked into place! That was what I was missing!
"Sonozaki Raito gave you the key to understanding this concept. When you began your quest to revive me through Project Metamorphosis, you were arrogant, selfish, and were only thinking to repay your debt. I am sure that now, you think differently. You let go of the Miracle Box, knowing of how power corrupts."
"So letting go was the key here... Huh, ironic how acceptance was the thing that revived you," I admitted with a smile.
"Revival? I think not," She chuckled. "The Son of Man had to suffer for three days before he rose again, and for me to fully become who my Father and the Creator wanted me to be, I stayed in digital limbo for three years. It is the same principle of defeating demonic powers. No offense intended to the dream demons here, of course."
"If we took offense every time someone called us that, we wouldn't be here," Shotaro-san laughed. "It's not a surprise people think that when we introduce ourselves as dream demons."
Kurayashiki Daijirou flinched at that, but Seiji placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled gently. "It's okay. You've grown from that, Jirou."
"I... I thank you, Sei," He answered as the two linked hands.
"Wait, but if you're rising up... Does that mean that..." MusosIatreiamon gasped.
She smiled. "It is time for me to take my role as the ruler of Saviour Datand. The Creator knew that it would not hold under the self-sustaining system it currently has, so he granted the Spirit that honour."
"So you're saying that what Pascatmon wanted was to be the ruler of Saviour Datand?!" Dan gasped.
"Indeed. But the Creator and my Father saw that she, like Haneul Srirocco when they were starting out, was only thinking for the prestige. She didn't wish to serve, she wanted to rule, so she was rejected. You... Can see the repercussions of that. She became our enemy and created the Fragmented Codes, which, as anyone can see... Ended up pushing her further away from the goal in her arrogant desire to rule. To be the best in everyone's eyes, to hopefully regain their favour. It only solidified their beliefs. They knew she wasn't sincere in it. She didn't have anyone to tell her she was wrong early on, and while I wish this could have been avoided, she chose the path of destruction, which earned her the ire of my Father. As a contrast, Haneul slowly came to realise their mistakes thanks to those around them. They have grown exponentially since then."
