We continue to trek through. The bodies are to be left as cold memories, and drops of snow greet us even colder. The whole environment greets my skin harshly, perhaps it's the increasingly open environment. Maybe it's from my prior condition?

There's a river to the left of us, it's frozen over. I still see mountains distant to our left and our right. Further on I see a hanging leading out to a massive opening. Poor 049... I see him lumber and limp in his steps. Is he tiring?

"We can stop if you'd like." I say to him with care.

A cough exits from him. "That'd be pleasing." What tone is that? So low. So... sad. I sit domain the snow, and recklessly, and without his normal grace, he topples down beside me.

I manage toward him with a better feeling in my legs. I grab his arm and lean into him without giving him any weight. "Are you alright?"

He comes alert, "Yes. Yes of course." He stares into me. "Haha, of course." He leans into me. "So long as I am to you as you are to me I'll be in my best mind."

"I'm growing tired of the ground so often."

"We'll find something." I say with my hand over his wrist.

He puts his other hand over my wrist, positioning himself to where he can look into my eyes: "And it will be ours." With glee and dedication in his voice.

To him with a chuckle: "Ours." God, I can't stand him, I love it. "Come over here," I say breaking the slightest distance between us, I lie on top of him.

A wheeze pushes out of him as I unintentionally slam my head into his chest. "

"Your legs should be doing better right?"

"Well, yes." What's he on about?

Him: "We should find shelter, yes?"

Me: "Yes but-"

"It's cold dear, er- well..." He pauses, reading the troubled look on my face. "Very well, we shall stay a little longer, though we should keep in mind not to have a repeat of last night."

Bah, well. I suppose he's right but... "I don't want to keep walking." I say pathetically with my head into his chest.

I feel his chest bounce with a chuckle "And I don't wish to be kept in this cold!" He says mimicking an aggressive tone, it's cute. "The snow is getting harsher.."... Yeah it is. I can feel it...

"Last night; that man..." I say changing the subject so that we'll stay longer. "The one that was yelling."

"Which one dear?" That causal tone...

"There was a man speaking in a different language." Silence strikes us, "I don't know, maybe it wasn't real somehow. But I think I saw him. Yeah, he spoke to me." 049 stays still and quiet. "He wore a gray coat and a gas mask. I wonder if there were others, I wonder where he went..." Hold on... "Did he really just leave after all that?"

"Why was he there..." The snow picks up harsher, I can feel it breach my jumpsuit. "It's so cold..." I cling tighter to 049, he's shivering.

"Dear, I'd prefer to leave before we're buried in this snow". His tone shakes with the wind.

I irk out of his grasp and to the ground next to him with a sigh: "Fine. Let's find something this time."

He raises his knees planting his feet in the snow and ascends upward "We will." He utters patently. He's dedicated... I should be too. Yeah, we WILL find something. At the worst, I won't live to be wrong...
