A different encounter ( a Sakura x Kalpas University AU)

Chapter One - Rocky Start

Sakura's POV:
Highschool is an establishment where people come and go to get knowledge, that's what I plan to do and that's what I hope everyone plans to do but one guy.

At least that's what I think

He doesn't speak much but when he does his tone is unbelievably unappealing.

I tolerated him at first but now I'm on my last nerve. I honestly don't even understand why he would go here. He never even comes to class on time, what is the point of coming here, he never treated anyone nice, thank god we never spoke.

Well, it won't matter this highschool is temporary, what matters is I get to the top school with top grades to elevate the yae name.

I wished it was easy, but not this time. Thanks to him.

As I was in class ready to start my day my teacher, Mr. Siegfried announced.

"-oh and Sakura you'd be paired up with Kalpas-"

My brain zoned out after those words. Impossible. Horrible. Disgusting.

This would be alright for a normal assignment but this costs 45% for my grades. 15% is already too much for me to handle.

Before I knew it the man was already next to me.

"Sakura is it?"
He says, his tone isn't as loud as I was accustomed to.

I pulled myself together, I need this score.

"You must be Kalpas, the teacher told us to do a project on the difference between animal-like monera and plant-like monera" Sakura says calmly.

I was actually surprised he didn't cut me off or anything. Usually he does that.

He looks uneasy, I wonder why. Maybe I should just do it myself or...

My thoughts stop when he started to talk.

"Oh yeah, I'll do that plant-like if that's ok"

He actually listened! Maybe he changed since a couple of days, he does feel different.

We finished it with 15 minutes to spare. This usually is a good thing but right now I just don't know how to speak to him.

"So what's new? You seem a bit different than usual."

That seems very neutral, hopefully.

"I'm different? How do I usually talk like?"

Uh oh. Wrong topic.

"I just thought you had a good sleep maybe? Or something good happened in your life"

Maybe that'll make him think I'm joking.

"Oh so you think my life is bad? Maybe it is since you're in it."

OH, that will not go unoticed

"You think you're clever?-"

"Yeah"

Damn he pulled a fast one.

"What cat got your tongue? Why didn't you finish it?"

I knew he'd never change, why did I even give him a chance?

"Sorry I was wrong, you didn't change. How can you when you have the same IQ as a chimp."

I say as I turn away from facing him with a face that looks like I didn't even try with that comeback.

"Hmm, that's it?"

His dumb face made me furious before I could respond the teacher beat me to it.

"Sakura, Kalpas detention for disrupture of class"

WHAT, that was self defense.

"We were having a debate sir that's all"

I said hoping he'd let us of.

"Debate shouldn't stop the concentration of the class."

"Not my fault if they can't do two things at the same time"

Kalpas said. WHAT IS HE THINKING.

"Kalpas apologize"
I hissed begging him to do as I say.

"That's enough both of you in the office now" he yelled
