A Shadow's Diamond

Chapter 16

Shadow and Sonic make it back to Tails' house where they find Silver and Amy talking to Ray and Olympia about what happened. They approach the group as they listen in on the conversation.

"You are telling me that Eggman just came and stole Diamond?" Silver raises an eyebrow.

Olympia nods, "Yeah, her husband called me not even 4 hours ago as he was crying about how the fat man came and just stole her. I wanted to go and hunt him down myself, but Ray made sure that I came to you guys."

Ray chimed in, "We don't know what Eggman is capable of doing, and we aren't sure what he is going to do to our friend."

Olympia puts a hand over Ray's mouth, "Besides! We have found out something from Dexter."

Shadow and Sonic look at each other before looking at the tiger and lion before them.

Olympia brings her arms together, "Diamond's body is destroying itself from inside and out."

Ray clarifies, "Basically, the plasma that is within her body is reacting badly because of when she used to be on the Ark, she would have protected people, but due to her being separated from the ones that she was required to protect. Her body began to destroy itself after she has met Shadow."

Shadow's eyes went wide as Sonic puts a hand onto his shoulder. He was going to make a remark but decided against it since he doesn't want to get into another fight with Shadow.

Tails brings out the machine that is refusing to stop glowing, "Do you think that the plasma in her body is what causing my machine to react like this?"

"Most likely." Ray looks over at Tails.

Tails looks over at Sonic, Shadow, and Silver. He said while walking over to them, "It's up to you guys in saving Diamond. We will give support once I have grabbed the Tornado."

Sonic and Silver nods while Shadow crosses his arms. They start to head out of the building as Shadow looks at Ray and Olympia getting off the couch before he walked out of the building. If what they are saying is true, he might have put his own friend's life in grave danger.

Diamond wakes up to see that she is in a tube. Water surrounds her as a mask that is pumping oxygen into her. She looks forward while having a hard seeing due to bubbles being heated up. Probably due to her plasma.

Eggman walks into the room with Scourge as they approach Diamond in the tube. He looks over at a screen that shows the level of plasma is being produced and radiating off her. He turns back to Diamond and says, "It has been a hard time locating you after the betrayal of Infinite and Sonic with his friends." He puts a hand onto the tube and looks into Diamond's green eyes as he smiles, "We have the most powerful weapon that is even stronger than Shadow himself, right in front of us." He feels the heat beginning to come off the tube as he quickly takes his hand away. He stares at Diamond as he walks over to the screen. The screen begins to hold his attention.

"Do you think that she can hear us?" Scourge asks while staring at her.

"Why wouldn't she? It's glass, not metal." Eggman presses some buttons on the screen as he turns to look at the tubes that are attached to Diamond. Watching green liquids go into Diamond's body. He watches Diamond struggle with containing the liquids in her body as the water soon starts to evaporate. He smiles as he watches the scene unfold in front of him.

Scourge watches in horror as Diamond struggle and the water evaporating at an alarming rate.

The glass starts to turn red as it soon explodes.

Eggman and Scourge shield themselves from the glass as they watch Diamond take off the mask and the tubes. 

Diamond walks towards Eggman and Scourge as she speaks a bit monotone, "Hello Dr. What is your first assignment from me?"

Scourge looks over at Eggman as he cheers in joy. He turns back to Diamond, this is what Eggman wanted to do with Diamond. He soon smiles, she might help them defeat Sonic once and for all.

Eggman calms down from cheering and says with a wide grin, "I want you to destroy Sonic, Shadow, and Silver. They have been thorns in my side and I want them gone!"

"Will do Doctor." Diamond walks over to the door and leaves.

Scourge turns towards Eggman, "This has been the smartest choice that you have done in a while."

Eggman looks down at Scourge, "Of course it's brilliant, I want to watch Shadow, Sonic, and Silver to suffer for what they have done to me. Once they are out of the way, I will take over the world!" Eggman says happily before turning away and walking out of the room.

Scourge stops smiling and turns towards the screen with Diamond's information on it. He walks up to it and starts pressing some buttons. Wondering if the anything would happen if he types some stuff into the screen to change anything. It only took Scourge a few minutes to change some things before stopping. He looks at his work and smiles before turning away and walking out.

A female robot voice says aloud, "Beginning to disolve the control fluids in Project Diamond."
