A Shadow's Diamond

Chapter 18

Shadow runs towards where Diamond is and looks around. She is nowhere in sight. There is a spot where she has landed, but she isn't there. Shadow looks around as he slows down, he should know anything. Women are sneaky. Natalia is an example of how sneaky they can be. The thought of Natalia makes Shadow's heart flutter before he turns to see Diamond flying at him with a staff. He dodges out of the way as he grabs a hold of the staff. He looks at Diamond and says, "Diamond! It's me, Shadow!"

Diamond lands onto her feet as she turns to look at Shadow. She turns the staff into a gun and shoots Shadow in the face.

Tails shoots at Eggman as he flies around with Amy in the back seat.

Eggman turns to look at Tails, "Buzz off, you fox." He presses some buttons and turns around to shoot missiles at Tails who begins to dodge them. He turns his hovercraft around and begins to fly away.

Tails presses down onto some buttons and begins to shoot at Eggman who dodges out of the way.

Eggman presses a button and blows smoke out of the hovercraft. Covering the entire area that the hovercraft was in.

Tails flies into the smoke and coughs. He shields his eyes as he looks around for Eggman, "Do you see him, Amy?"

"Nope!" Amy says as she covers her mouth.

Tails flies out of the smoke to see Eggman firing more missiles at him. He moves his plane out of the way as 1 manages to hit a wing of the tornado. He says aloud, "Amy! We are going down!"

"Make sure that the landing is soft, Tails!" Amy screams.

Tails pulls his plane up as it goes down. He is hoping that the tornado lands onto its wheels instead of crashing. The plane nears the ground as Tails continues on pulling it up, but the plane was almost able to land on its wheels before 1 wheel shoots off the plane as it crashes into the ground.

Ray turns towards the plane, "Amy! Tails!" She turns towards Scourge and kicks him away before running towards the duo.

Eggman lowers his hovercraft to look at the accomplishment that he has made. Tails' plane is down as he smiles until he remembers that Sonic and Silver are in the base. He turns towards Scourge, "Scourge, go deal with Sonic and Silver. They are in the base. I will handle everyone out here."

Scourge nods and runs inside.

Sonic and Silver walk through the base as they peak into every room that they come across. Sonic pokes his head into another room as he sees that it's just another bedroom. He leans back out into the hallway and says, "Dang, Eggman. This is just sad."

"We have almost been everywhere and we still don't have a clue where they have begun to control Diamond." Silver walks up next to Sonic.

"Maybe we are doing everything wrong." Sonic walks over to the next room and sees a broken tube. He looks over at Silver, "Found something."

Silver walks over to Sonic as they go into the room.

They see that there is green liquid dropping out of smaller and skinnier tubes.

Silver walks over to the tubes and holds up 1. He notices that the green liquids start to turn red once they hit the ground. He looks over at Sonic, "I have just noticed this, the liquids are turning red once they hit the ground."

Sonic looks at the screen to see some stuff appearing for Diamond. He frowns as he stares at the screen before typing in how to reverse the green liquids. A singular answer pops up as he clicks on it. He reads it aloud, "In order to reverse the controlling effect, someone will have to knock out Project Diamond, but due to her violent nature when in protection mode, it becomes near impossible."

"So, we have to somehow knock her out." Silver says while letting go of the tube and walking over to Sonic.

Sonic nods, "Yeah." He turns around from the screen, "Let's go help, Shadow."

"I don't think that would be necessary." Scourge says as he walks into the room.

Sonic gets into a fighting stance, "Scourge!"

Scourge looks at the screen, "I see that you are looking for a way so that Diamond is no longer in control. I am afraid that I can't let you get to Shadow with that information."

Sonic runs up to Scourge and punches him. He turns towards Silver, "Get to Shadow!" He focuses back on Scourge as he is kicked away.

Scourge looks over at Silver and runs towards him before Sonic got up and got in the way. Scourge stops in his tracks as he glares at Sonic and growls.

Silver looks at Sonic and says, "Thanks!"

Sonic nods as he lets Silver fly around him and go to Shadow. He stares at Scourge, "1 last fight."

"Let this be the most rememberable one in the history books." Scourge says.

Both run at each other ready to punch the other.
