Paper stars

There is a boy in Yoon Jeonghan's class whose name is Hong Jisoo. A boy that Jeonghan always found odd.

He was odd in his way to be. His eyes always starring at the void. Not a single shadow of a smile ever appeared on his face and spoke so rarely that Yoon Jeonghan didn't even remember his voice. He looked like he didn't belong in this world.

Even though he was cute. Cute face, cute features. Light brown hairs and dark brown eyes, almost like coffee. Latte for the hairs, black and strong coffee for the eyes. White skin, a bit red on his nose. Pinky lips, which were kinda attractive (yeah even for a boy like Yoon Jeonghan)

The strangest thing about this boy was his paper stars. Every time someone was calling him, bullying him (yes Yoon Jeonghan assumed it was bullying), he picked up a strip of paper and made a tiny star. The colour changed sometimes, and Yoon Jeonghan wondered about the meaning. Every time Hong Jisoo made his tiny little stars, the boy looked at them and put them in his pocket, in his bag, in his lunchbox or in his pencil case.

Sometimes, some of them fell on his back without him noticing anything. Yoon Jeonghan picked up every star which fell, he put it in his pocket. He started to put them in a metal box at home. He collected them, Hong Jisoo lost them anyway, he could keep them up. It was pretty, charming, and a bit cute too.

One day, Hong Jisoo fell. A bully in another class pushed him, which made him fall on his butt. A tiny moan escaped his pinky lips. For the first time, Yoon Jeonghan made a move. For the first time, he did something for this odd boy.

"Get lost." He just said to the bully.

Yoon Jeonghan picked up Hong Jisoo, offered him his prettiest smile. A huge and warm smile. Hong Jisoo only looked at the floor, watching some kind of void once again. He pulled out a strip of white paper from his pocket and started to make another star. It was like he was doing it without even being conscious of it. Yoon Jeonghan didn't let go of his arm.

"Let's walk to the classroom." Yoon Jeonghan said. Hong Jisoo looked at him this time.

He nodded. So, without letting go of the odd boy's arm, Yoon Jeonghan walked to the classroom. Arrived at the place, Hong Jisoo just went to his desk and never looked at Yoon Jeonghan again.

This day, Hong Jisoo made even more stars than usual. A lot of blue ones, some black and red too. He even made a pink one.

After this day, Yoon Jeonghan stayed with Hong Jisoo every lunchtime. Hong Jisoo was silent, but he accepted Yoon Jeonghan.

Yoon Jeonghan noticed during this period that Hong Jisoo had pretty long eyelashes. He wondered if the girl were jealous. He also noticed that Hong Jisoo didn't like carrots and that he always put them in a corner of his lunchbox and never ate them.

More and more yellow stars appeared in Hong Jisoo's pocket. Yoon Jeonghan started to be invaded.

They were now heading home together. Hong Jisoo was a bit more talkative. Sometimes some words escaped his pretty mouth. Yoon Jeonghan discovered that Hong Jisoo liked chocolate ice cream.

Hong Jisoo had a cute voice. It was low and deep, a bit rough. The boy wasn't used to speak. But even with that, it suited Hong Jisoo so well. Yoon Jeonghan's heart flustered when he heard it for the first time. He felt so strange, even now.

Yoon Jeonghan was proud to be the only one close to Hong Jisoo. Hong Jisoo looked at only him, Hong Jisoo offered his voice to only him, and Hong Jisoo offered his stars to only him.

"What are the stars about?" Asked Yoon Jeonghan one day. It was mid-spring, they were in a park, eating ice cream.

"Emotions."

He didn't said anything else.

One day, Yoon Jeonghan came over to Hong Jisoo's house. He wasn't expecting him to be this rich, the house was huge.

Hong Jisoo showed him his room. It was empty, the only thing in it was a bed and a desk. Of course, everything was overwhelming, all covered, by multicoloured paper stars but nothing else remained.

The boy ran to his desk and picked up some yellow stars. He gave them to Yoon Jeonghan. It was his way to say hi, his way to be welcoming.

Yoon Jeonghan stayed to sleep. Hong Jisoo's parents were on business travel. They slept in the same bed. Only Hong Jisoo could sleep this night.

Yoon Jeonghan's heart was rushing, the boy in front of him was the cutest shit he ever saw. And his lips, amazingly kissable pinky lips. Yoon Jeonghan wanted to touch them, to feel them. He didn't do it. He only stared at them all night.

"Jisoo." He asked while the boy was still sleeping. "Are you forbidden to feel things? Is that what the stars are for?"

In the morning, while Yoon Jeonghan was putting his shoes on, Hong Jisoo took with him a blue paper star and gave it to Yoon Jeonghan.

"Yes." he said.

Yoon Jeonghan was about to leave when he turned on.

"Hong Jisoo, I think I like you."

The boy's eyes became like two ping-pong balls, he blushed. His lips were strangely moving (was he trying to smile?). And then something happened. Something big. Something which had never happened before.

For the first time in his life, Hong Jisoo cried.

Yoon Jeonghan gently took him in his arms, very carefully.

"Hey hey hey." He said. "I didn't mean to make you cry. Forget my words if they leave you in this state." As he talked he hugged him. Hong Jisoo smelled too good, he felt his heart beating faster and faster.

"Don't have..." Hong Jisoo tried to say. "There's no... No colour... There's no colour for what I feel right now."

"No colour to say no ?"

Hong Jisoo shook his head to say no. He pulled off a pink stripe of paper and made a really fast star with it. The star was ugly but Hong Jisoo gave it to Yoon Jeonghan.

"Okay, what if..." Yoon Jeonghan smiled. "what if every time you feel that way you kiss me?"

As an answer, Hong Jisoo offered to Yoon Jeonghan his very kissable pinky lips.
