Stuffing her last thing into her pink back pack was her makeup kit. Carson Adele stared at her spiffy reflection as a sly smile jovially crept on her well shaped lips.
She was caught off by the turning of her room's door as she hurriedly picked up her bag, not to be questioned by her resilient mum.
“Darling,” she called with a tiny faked voice. “Aren't you ready for school, huh?“
Adele turned swiftly to her mum with a broken smile. “Yes, Mrs Daisy Carson...”
Mrs Carson stared at her daughter convincingly as she walked over to her, scrutinizing her thoroughly.
“What's up with your unusual behaviour?” she asked after finding nothing parlous with her daughter.
Adele sighed softly, turning to face the large mirror in front of her, at that weird figure that reflected. “I'm nervous mum,”
“About what? Darling, talk to me...”
“About the school...and worse, my classmates. They don't like me last term remember, I bet they would hate me more.” Adele confessed, looking terrible as ever.
“So what do you wanna do about that?”
“What do you mean mum? They hate me, my classmates laughed at me scornfully almost throughout that pathetic term...”
“And I ask, what do you wanna do about that?” Daisy asked, cutting in.
Adele turned to her mum swiftly, looking speechless. “I will look beautiful as ever, I will make them love me,”
“You're beautiful!” Daisy clapped her hands unconsciously, chuckling.
Adele stared convincingly at the mirror in doubt, was she really beautiful like her mum said? That pointed nose, that black eyes, her long eyelashes...her full black hard hair plaited to all back, her partially pink lips, her dark skin and worse...her tall height! 5'8fts.
“I'm not beautiful!” she blurted out, sitting on her bed with her eyes brimming of tears.
Daisy sighed, taking her seat beside Adele. “Why do you say so?”
“Because...there are many pretty and beautiful girls in my class and they won't even want to be my friend...”
“I gave birth to you and when I say that my daughter is beautiful, I mean it, take a look at your big brother, he's handsome so are you!”
That brightened Adele a lot as a smile escaped from her lips. “Thank you mum, I now realize I'm beautiful. Thank you...so I don't need this...” she unzipped her bag and brought out her makeup kit.
Daisy was astonished and shocked to sight that. “What's this...”
“I bought if for resumption and I thought I could take it to school and make myself pretty...”
“It's alright darling, just be you okay?”
Adele smiled and nodded. Daisy assisted her with her back as they headed to the sitting room and had breakfast before leaving for bus stop where Adele boarded a cab to her school; Claribel Academy.
