The pen curved along the final line of the letter. King Juvlek had just finished signing the Treaty of Indifference, an end to The War of Simi.
Simi was a peaceful and prosperous world. Villages formed, gathering people and allowing them to live together. Kings appeared and turned the villages into Kingdoms, and the Kingdoms into Countries and Empires. Wars were fought, but none like that of The War of Simi. Because it was a war of magic.
Magic is the essence of a human. Magic energy, called Inraise, flows through the human body, allowing humans to use the magic to their needs. Each human is born with a certain type of magic. Each one different from the other. However, very few humans learn how to use the magic, those who do, are named Explorers. The Explorers are not only explorers for their King, but also soldiers and warriors. A human can tell if they are an Explorer when they take the Explorer Exam, at age three. If they succeed in the exam, they are immediately sent to the Institute of Explorers. Or, at least, that's how it used to be.
Ever since the Fall of Simi. Now the world is new. Now the world is Simishan. A new world. Another world. Another Forest.
