"Shit, shit!" Ann softly whispered to herself as she rolled onto the ground. "What the fuck. This is the upside down? How do I get out?"

The place was calm for a couple of seconds before something started screeching in the distance. The girl was squinting, but water kept dripping into her eyes. after a couple seconds of silence, thunder hit and the sky became red for a second, Ann stayed down and tried to think of what to do, but before she could ever get up, Steve got dragged across the ground just like she did.

"Steve!" Ann exclaimed, crawling to his side as thunder continued to rumble. "Steve, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay." He panted, looking at the sky in disbelief. "Are you good? how are you even in here?"

Before she could reply, a creature snarled from behind them, and both Ann and Steve took a step back in apprehension.

"A bat?" Ann whispered and Steve held out his arm in front of Ann, pushing her back a bit more.

The thing flew near them for a couple of seconds, before making its way to where the gate the duo had just come from.

"Steve," Ann said, trying to keep her calm, "There's more."

"Be careful, we don't know what these are." Steve warned her as his shoulders tensed up and more of the bats started flocking their area, screeching.

Ann backed up more, and both of them eventually started making their way back towards the boat Steve had been thrown next to earlier.

She tripped and fell into the boat covered in vines, but before Steve could even lend her a hand to help her up, Ann grabbed the paddle next to her and threw it to Steve.

"Watch out!" she yelled as the boy caught it and turned around just in time to swing the paddle at it, knocking it away.

"Ann!" he exclaimed as he swung the paddle at another monster. "Can you get up?"

"Shit! I don't think so" she exclaimed, watching as vines started wrapping themselves around her ankle and then up her leg, "Steve!" she yelled as she saw him get knocked to the ground by the bat.

Ann grabbed at the vines, trying her best to rip them off as tears started forming in her eyes, "shit, shit!" she swore, trying to check if Steve was still alive

Panicked as vines crawled all over her, Ann didn't notice Nancy, Robin and Eddie who had just crossed the gate and were helping Steve with the bats.

"Hey there" panted Nancy as Steve tried to loosen the hold the bat had on his neck. "Quick, hold it robin!" she told the other girl as Nancy jammed the paddle on its body repeatedly.

"Kill it! Kill it!" Eddie chanted, keeping an eye on his own surroundings, swinging at the bats that approached him. "Yeah, come on!"

Still struggling with the vines, Ann wasn't aware that the others were helping Steve with the bats. By now, both of her legs were in a bind and one of her wrists was also tied up by her leg, from where she'd tried to rip some off. She only had one hand left to get herself out, and she could feel the vines starting to crawl on her back.

"No, no, no please let me go" she whimpered, tears welling up in her eyes as she breathed in and out, trying but failing to keep her calm "Steve's not talking. He's dead, oh my god."

The vines kept on tightening, and she could feel the blood leaving her lower extremities.

"Fuck, fuck!" she heaved as she felt a vine crawl around her neck.
