My life is a sinking ship

My ship was built strong
When I saw it, I knew it was going to last a lifetime. The last ship I would ever sail.
Over the years, there were small leaks here and there. Easy repairs.
Worry free I sail the world
Until one day I unexpectedly was hit
At first I thought it wasn't too bad, another easy repair
I held my hand over the hole
The pressure was increasing
I held on harder
More water flowed inward
I shoved my hardest and my strength broke open the damage
I begged and pleaded
Please stop!
I tried shouting
I tried crying
And for all my struggle
My ship was taking on too much water
It splinted and cracked and attacked my body
My heart hurt
My body hurt
I left my ship
It wasn't easy to leave my ship
I thought it to be my last
To be without a ship scared me
Who am I without a ship to protect me from the cold harsh world
I climbed aboard another ship
It felt strange
Not like my old ship
But what could I do
My old ship betrayed me!
I missed my ship
Part of me always loved that ship
So I went back to it
Broken
In pieces
I patched the hole
Quickly and with much hope
At first it seemed great
In good working order
Slowly my ship began to have problems
It began to resent me
It felt like it wanted me gone
I am on a sinking ship
I am taking on water
I cannot swim
I am holding on to my ship
With all of my might
How can I hold on to something that
Only wants to cause me pain
