It was December 27. Meaning it was the birthday of a very special person. That being Ochaco Uraraka of U.A. High's Class 1-A. For the occasion, the class decided that they wouldn't have a Christmas party two days earlier. Instead, they decided to throw a Christmas-themed party for Ochaco's birthday.
Uraraka was blindfolded and led to the Common Room by Deku and Tsu. All three of them were wearing Santa outfits.
"We're almost there. You excited?" Asked Deku as he held Uraraka's hand to guide her.
"You didn't need to blindfold me you know. I know it's a party." Uraraka said, snarkily.
"We know. But we still want you to be surprised by how it turned out." Said Tsu.
"Hm-hm. Okay." Ochaco giggled as she replied. They had reached the Common Room and Tsu went behind Uraraka to undo her blindfold. It came off and Ochaco opened her eyes to see the decorations strewn across the room, the massive tree in the corner and all the food laid out on the tables.
"Surprise!" Everyone announced. Uraraka was taken aback. She looked in awe at all the effort her friends put in for her. She covered her mouth in shock.
"You-You guys." She said." You-You didn't need to do all this for me."
"What do you mean?" Said Iida as he walked up. "After what you've been through recently, it's the least we could do." Uraraka felt a gentle hand on her shoulder and looked to see Deku smiling at her.
"Everyone wanted to do something special just for you. We felt you deserved it." He told her. Uraraka was welling up with tears. But she had the biggest smile on her face. She threw herself into a hug with Deku, which he reciprocated. At this point, they were dating, but it wasn't anything serious. They were committed to each other, but not official partners. The rest of the class knew this already and respected their decision.Uraraka could feel herself being dragged out of the hug and towards the table.
"Come on! Let's go have some fun!" Ashido exclaimed in excitement. Deku looked and smiled. He was happy to see his classmates try so hard for her sake."Here, Ochaco! We got you something!" Said Hagakure, handing her a present.
"Thank you!" She replied. She went to open it but was stopped.
"Ah, ah, aah. We still have one here for Midoriya." Said Ashido, holding a second present.
"Me? But I thought this was just for Ochaco." Said Deku in confusion.
"Trust me. It makes more sense this way." Mina reassured him, then handed him the present. "Here."
"If you say so..." Said Deku, sceptical.
"Did you know about this?" Todoroki asked Iida.
"Nope. This must have been entirely their idea." He replied. Uraraka and Deku opened their presents at the same time. Each one being a custom sweater. Deku's was pastel green and Ochaco's was pastel red. Each one had a white bird on them. Deku's had the tail feathers pointing to the bottom left, with the wings spread and the beak pointing at the shoulder on the opposite side. Uraraka's was the same but mirrored.
"What's this?" Ochaco asked.
"They're turtle doves. They're seen as a symbol of enduring love." Said Ashido.
"So we thought that we should get you two something matching with turtle doves on them." Explained Hagakure. "They mean that the love between you two will go on forever. Deku and Ochaco were touched at the gesture.
"That's incredibly sweet. Thanks, you two." Said Deku. The two girls smiled at each other. The rest of the night, the class spent time with each other in the Common Room. They had a full Christmas dinner, played board games and listened to cheery music. Ashido and Hagakure wanted to set up mistletoe for Deku and Ochaco but weren't allowed and couldn't figure out how to smuggle some in. Uraraka had a lot of fun and was smiling the most that she had smiled in a long time. Deku was pleased to see her so happy. She deserved to be happy after all.
The party went on for a few hours. After it was finished, everyone was tired and went to bed. Ochaco was in her room, wearing her pyjamas, almost ready for bed, when she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." She said. The door opened and Deku peeked his head inside.
"Hey. How are you feeling?" He asked.
"I'm great. Come in." She offered. Deku walked in. He was also in his pyjamas, ready for bed. But he wanted to stay with Uraraka.Ochaco sat on the bed and pat a spot next to her, offering for Deku to sit there, which he did. Immediately after, Uraraka threw herself into a hug and kissed Deku's cheek. Deku chuckled and lay on the bed. They both lay together, taking in the warmth of each other's bodies. Uraraka looked Deku in the eye and he looked back. He placed a hand on her cheek. They both gently smiled at each other and chuckled.
"Thanks for today, Deku. It means a lot." Said Uraraka.
"You're welcome Ochaco." Deku replied.
Uraraka startled giggling.
"What's so funny?" Asked Deku.
"You've started calling me Ochaco." She replied.
"Oh. I have, haven't I?"
"Yeah. And I like it." Deku took his hand off Uraraka's cheek and wrapped his arm around her body, hugging her tighter. He rolled over so that she'd be won't the bed rather than him, making her more comfortable."Hey, Deku."
"Yeah?"
"Do you think we should make it official?"
"Hmm. Believe me, I want to. But I don't know if I'm ready for a committed relationship."
"How well you've been treating me and the amount of time we've spent together says otherwise." Deku chuckled.
"You do have a point there." Uraraka closed her eyes.
"But if you say you're not ready, I'm okay with that. I don't wanna force anything out of you."
"Same here. Just tell me if you're not okay with anything I do. Okay?"
"Okay." The two of them looked at each other again.
"I love you Ochaco."
"I love you too Deku."
They shared a kiss and went to sleep.
