Chapter 2

My vision was blurry, and my hearing was foggy. I could hear and feel myself running. I felt scared. What was I running from? And then I saw light. There was a person in front of me. I fell into their arms. I could hear talking, but I didn't know what they were saying. The person held me. They were warm. I clung onto them. But why? Who were they?

I slowly opened my eyes. I groaned as the sunlight that came through the window hit my eyes. I sat up and rubbed my face. Then I stretched every possible way.

I heard the door fling open. I jumped and looked at Himiko. Her eyes were wide with panic. "Eri! It's your dad! He needs your help! He cut himself!"

I jumped out of bed and ran for the door. I sprinted through the hall, stumbling through the doorway, expecting to see blood. But I didn't. My dad, Overhaul, was standing with a smile on his face. He was holding an outfit. "Eri! Happy birthday!"

My eyes widened and then I smiled. Oh yeah. I'm 16 now.

I walked toward him and looked at the outfit in his hands. He pushed it forward to me. I grabbed it with excitement. I hung it out in front of me. It was a black bodysuit with a hood. Dad told me to try it on, so I went to do so.

I went into my room and put the suit on. I looked at myself in the mirror when I was done. It was skintight and had thick gloves and boots. The fingers of the gloves had suction on them so I could climb walls. There was also suction on the tip of the boots. The hood covered my forehead and had an attached facemask. There was a hole for my horn, and then another fake horn on the other side that made it look like I had two. It also had big pockets.

It took a second for me to realize that there was a button on my arm that removed the tips of the fingers so I can use my quirk.

There was a knock on the door and I went to go open it. It was Himiko. She hugged me when she saw me. "You look amazing! I remember what I looked like when I was your age!"

I smiled. "I love it."

She pulled away from the hug. "You can even try it out! Your dad wanted you to help him get some money that someone owes him."

My eyes widened in excitement. They both gave me the details and I left. The man's name was Haru Suzuki. I made my way across the city, hopping from rooftop to rooftop, until I got to his house. I dropped down to the backyard. I looked into the house from the sliding glass door. I slowly opened it and walked in. The house was barely lit.

I could hear the TV playing in the living room. I walked toward the source of the noise. I walked into the room and saw a man in a reclining chair. I reached out to him after pressing the button on my arm, and grabbed his neck. The man gasped and tried to turn around, but I grabbed the back of his head and stopped him. "Look at me, and I kill you."

I leaned down to his ear. "I want the money that you owe to Overhaul."

I heard him whimper. "I-I don't have it."

I released my quirk, slowly rewinding him, tearing his body apart from the inside. He started wincing in pain. "I'm sorry! I don't have it!"

I smiled. "That's not the right answer, Suzuki."

I was about to continue when I heard a something behind me. I turned around and saw a little girl staring at me with a phone to her ear. My eyes widened and I ran at her. She bolted, running for the closest room. She ran into one of them and slammed the door, making me hit it. The lock clicked and I tried to bust it open. "LET ME IN!"

I heard her crying. I banged on the door. Then I decided that instead of trying to get the phone from the little girl, I would grab some money or something valuable from the house. I searched the rooms and finally put some expensive jewelry in my pockets, and then some money that was laying on the dresser. I heard police sirens and booked it out of the house.

I went out the front door and saw police officers getting out of the vehicle with guns. There was a dog that was sent after me, chasing me fast. I wasn't worried about the dog. I dodged the bullets, but when the dog got close enough to me, I grabbed it by the neck and rewound it until I heard it barking very high pitched. I ran away from the tiny puppy until I was out of sight.

I hopped a few fences with the suction. And then, when I got home, I went inside with a big smile on my face. I closed the door behind me, and Himiko and Dad were waiting on the couch. Himiko jumped up. "How was it?"

I pulled the valuables out of my pockets. "I got it! And it was amazing!"

Himiko hugged me. "I'm so glad! I can't wait for your first fight with a hero! Maybe we can even beat Deku!"

I laughed. "As if! I would never be able to beat HIM!"

Dad shrugged. "You never know! I was able to escape him with you when you were young."

I smiled. "Maybe I can. We'd have to see."
