Chapter 7

The Curse

El is standing on the edge of skull rock , it's actually quite peaceful the sun setting behind the trees, the sky a beautiful pink and yellow the water calmly flowing, the bird's chirping, the wind hugging her face as it blew softly, she scans her surroundings when she spots someone sitting underneath a huge skull like rock, she couldn't make out who the person was at 1st "hello?" She called out, the person didn't answer " hey !" She called out  but again the person ignored her calls as the branches and twigs cracked underneath her bear feet she made her way to the figure as she got closer she knew exactly who the figure was. He sat with his face buried in hands " Eddie?"
Eddie slowly removes his hands from his face and faces El, his eyes filled with tears , " how do you know my name?" He sniffles
" oh my god it is you! "
" who are you ?"
" my name is El."
" Well El I don't know how you found me but I'd leave if I were leave you."
" Eddie it's okay I know a lot more then you think, We share the same friends like Mike and Dustin, Steve, Nancy, Nora."
" Nora. My sweet Angel." Eddie was just seconds away from crying as a vision of Nora plays in his head like a movie.
" she misses you too. Well the real you.  She's been fighting like hell to save you Eddie to bring you back. But in order to do that we have to break the curse. We have to break the hold Vecna has on you."

" and how exactly do we do that ?"Eddie asked
" I don't know yet but-" before El could finish the ground began to shake, the sky turned a bright red the beautiful scenery was turning into broken clocks, the rocks turned into walls with vines everywhere.
"He's  coming, Go! I'll keep him distracted!" Eddie says to El in a worried tone.
El knods as she turns to start running Eddie gently grabs El's arm " wait, t-tell Nora I love her so much and I'll do whatever it takes to get back to her."
El knods again and takes off running, the ground beneath her feet began to crack, she could hear that demonic yell from behind her, El ran as fast as she could when suddenly her foot gets caught on a vine, she lets out a scream as she falls, she pants trying to catch her breath when she feels a hand around her throat. She feels her body being picked up from the ground and soon her eyes met with another pair of eyes.
" you will never save him !" Vecna screams as he raises his hand as if he is about to kill El.

El wakes up screaming causing Hopper to wake up from his sleep and bolt like a bat out of hell to her bedroom door.
" Hey kiddo you okay ?" He asked calmly as he takes El in a hug.
El was speechless she had never felt fear like this, everyone's worst fears came true, Vecna was back stronger, faster and smarter.

Meanwhile at the Harrington house Nora was also awakened by screaming, but this time it was coming from her brothers room.
Nora jumps out of bed and sprints down the hall to Steve's room, she bursts through the door almost breaking the hinges.
As soon as Nora saw Steve she knew exactly what was happening, the lights in his room flickered, blood was draining from Steve's nose.
Nora runs to Steve's side and begins shaking him " Steve ! Wake up Steve! Follow my voice ! Steve wake up come on ! Follow my voice Steve ! Come on!" Nora held back tears she wouldn't be able to handle it if she lost her brother too.
Steve suddenly gasps for air and begins coughing uncontrollably.
Nora sighs in relief " Steve it's okay your home your safe." Nora reassured him once Steve was able to calm down he hugged Nora tightly " he's back Nora. He's back." Steve repeated in absolute fear.
" It's okay. It's okay." Nora whispered repeatedly.
Nora was terrified and angry 1st Eddie now Steve? " I'll die before I let that bastard hurt anyone else." Nora thinks to herself. She was tired of living in fear. " this ends now."

The next day the gang gathered round in Mikes basement, it was eerily quiet, no one spoke, no one knew what to say, they all sat in fear. Steve was still trying to push his nightmare behind him, El was trying to make sense of it all, Nora finally spoke " look I know we're all afraid, the bastard has clearly gotten stronger which means he's going to have more tricks up his sleeve he's going to be sneakier , but I can't sit back and let this fucker hurt anyone else, I owe it to myself, to Steve and El but  mostly to Eddie. " Nora says as she turns to Kas who was sitting on the stair case playing with his rings, Nora smiles as she relives more memories Eddie used to do that all the time when he was anxious  .
" Nora I don't think you understand, he scared the living shit out of El and Steve and that was only in a nightmare imagine when he could do to us if we actually went down there." Robin says
" which is exactly why we need to go down there! I can't believe you guys ! So what ? We should just throw in the towel because Vecna is throwing a temper tantrum? Huh? We just walk away and let him get away with killing Eddie? And what about El and Steve ? We just leave them to fend for themselves?! I'm sorry but I can't sit back and let him kill anyone else I say we go back down there and end him once and for all. "
