"Hey, my boy," Slughorn said as he sees Harry,

"So wonderful to see you," Harry said as he stands up to shake hands with the professor.

"And you, and you," Slughorn said.

"So what brings you here?" Harry said as we all just watched in confusion.

"Oh, Three Broomsticks and I go way back further than I care to admit. I could remember when it was One Broomstick," Slughorn said as Hermione choked on her butterbeer.

"You okay," I asked

"Fine," Hermione said.

"All hands on deck, Granger. Listen, my boy, in the old days, I used to throw together the occasional supper party. Select a student or two. Would you be game?" Slughorn said.

"I consider it an honour, sir," Harry said.

"You'd be welcome too, Granger and of course I would like you to attend L/N," Slughorn said.

"I'd be delighted, sir," Hermione said.

"Guess I could make some time," I said.

"Splendid! Look for my owl. Good to see you, Wallenby," Slughorn said to Ron before walking off and once gone I laughed at the name.

"What are you playing at?" Ron said.

"Dumbledore's asked me to get to know him," Harry said.

"Get to know him? what does that mean," I asked once I calmed down.

"Dunno. It must be important. If it wasn't, Dumbledore wouldn't ask," Harry said.

"You have any idea what these dinners will be like," I said as we walked back after finishing our drinks.

"No, but if Slughorn is going through the trouble to ask Harry it can't be that bad," Hermione said.

"Possibly but Harry is pretty famous these days could be a bunch of people that are elitist, all rich and posh," I said.

"Word is your just as well-known as he is now," Hermione said.

"I guess," I said as I pulled Hermione closer to my side.

"Harry, did you hear what she was saying back in the pub there on me and her snogging?" Ron said before we heard a scream.

"I warned her. I warned her not to touch it," Leanne said as Katie lat on the ground she was thrown up to the sky the fell back down.

"Don't get any closer! Get back, all of you. Do not touch that, except for the wrappings. Do you understand?" Hagrid said as he came over and Harry use his wan to move the raping of a necklace.

"You're sure Katie did not have this in her possession when she entered the Three Broomsticks?" McGonagle said as she looked at the necklaces.

"It's like I said. She left to go to the loo. And when she came back, she had the package. She said it was important that she deliver it," Leanne said.

"Did she say to whom?" McGonagle said.

"To Professor Dumbledore," Leanne said.

"Very well. Thank you, Leanne. You may go. Why is it when something happens, it is always you four?" McGonagle said after Leanne left.

"Believe me, Professor, I've been asking myself the same question for six years," Ron said.

"Oh, Severus. What do you think?" McGonagle said.

"I think Miss. Bell is lucky to be alive. She was cursed, wasn't she? I know Katie. Off the Quidditch pitch, she wouldn't hurt a fly, If she was delivering that to Professor Dumbledore, she wasn't doing it knowingly," Harry said.

"Yes, she was cursed," McGonagle said.

"It was Malfoy," Harry said and we all turn to him.

"That is a very serious accusation, Potter," McGonagle said.

"Indeed. Your evidence?" Snape said.

"I just know," Harry said.

"You "just" know. Once again, you're astonished with your gifts, Potter. Gifts mere mortals can only dream of possessing. How grand it must be to be the Chosen One. I suggest you go back to your dormitories. All of you," Snape said.

"Draco was there at the three Broomsticks and he did leave in a hurry soon before Kate did," I said before following the others out.

"What do you suppose Dean sees in her-- Ginny? And what does she see in him? Dean-- He's brilliant," Ron says as we lay on our beds.

"You called him slick git not five hours ago," I said.

"Yeah, well, he was running his hands all over my sister. You've got to hate him, you know? Old principle. I suppose. So what do you think he sees in her?" Ron said.

"I don't know. She's smart, funny, attractive," Harry said.

"Attractive?" Ron said.

"You know, she's got nice skin," Harry said.

"Skin? You're saying Dean's dating my sister because of her skin?" Ron said.

"I'm just--I'm just saying it could be a contributing factor," Harry said and I was now seeing just how odd this conversation was.

"Hermione's got nice skin. Right Y/N, as skin goes, I mean," Ron said realising what he had just said.

"I've never really thought about it. But I suppose, yeah," I said.

"I think I'll be going to sleep now," Ron said to get out of the now awkward situation.

"Right," I said.

I was putting ht final touches to my outfit for this dinner party Harry had gone on ahead to talk with Slughorn. I didn't really want to look smart but I assumed as did Hermione that the rest would so we diced to at least look the part.

"Hey ready to go," Hermione said as I left the boy's dorm.

"Yeah you look beautiful by the way," I said.

"Are you going to complement me all night?" Hermione said.

"I might," I said winking at her.

"Sounds like I might enjoy this more than I originally thought," Hermione said.

"Really," I said.

"You make a lot of things better," Hermione said.

"Thank you," I said as I took her hand as we left the dorms.

When we did arrive the first thing I saw was that other than me, Haayt and Hermione the rest were as I expected students with respected families. Thankfully our decision to go informal had been taken up by the rest of them so we didn't look too out of place. As we sat down I realised that the only two seats left were opposite Slughorn and Cormac at least it wasn't next to him but now he had a great view of her.
