It Remains With Us.Lily and Atlas's story after It Starts With Us

Chapter 1

So,as all of the book lovers know,the story ended when they got married,but my story starts after their honeymoon in europe.

After our honeymoon,me and Lily,returned to Boston,where we say that everything is better,even though our time in Europe was amazing.
As we walk into our house,I see Emmy running towards us,and to my surprise,she hugged me first.Lily was kinda surprised,considering I'm not her biological dad,but it feels like I am.She often calls me „daddy" or „dada" and calls Ryle dad.

I still remember the first time she referred to me as her father.It was the night that we got ready for her 4th birthday and surprisingly she told me to teach her how to bake her cookies,just like her mother.I was so excited for us to have a cute father-daughter moment.But later,when she had the dough in her hands,she dropped it on the floor making a mess of herself.She expected me to get mad,like Ryle sometimes does,but I didn't.She started tearing up a little bit,and then she thanked me and called me daddy.

I think she can't understand properly why she has two dads,since she's 4,but she's been really cool about it.

I was really happy to see Emmy.We missed her so much in this week.We missed Josh,too.Unfortunately,he's at Theo's house so we'll see him later.I also hugged my mom who was there taking care of Emerson.

-How was the trip?

-It was amazing!We had a great time.I say while playing with Emmy.

-I bet you liked atlas's big hugs.

Atlas was confused at my mother's words and a little bit embarrassed.

-Oh my god,mom!Please,that was private.I say,shocked since I didn't expect her to say that.

After my mom left,me and atlas started picking up Emmy's toys in her room when he told me:

-I didn't know you talked about our „hugs" with your mother.said atlas while laughing.

-I really don't.It was a one time thing.I say smiling

-Yeah,i'm sure about that babe.

-Well,in my defense,your therapist is a 15 year old.

-At least he's free.Don't forget,he came up with the „It is my wish for you to be my fish".he said while laughing

-I still can't get over that famous line.we burst out laughing.I love this about us,we never get mad over anything.And when we fight,he never lays a hand on me.

Atlas

-Atlas,I can't believe Emmy still hasn't lost the toy you gave her.It might be her favourite,she plays with it all the time.

-I hope so,I remember the day i gave her the toy.It was when..

-We moved in.Lily says,completing me.She always know what I think about.

-That's right.Is this your favorite toy,Emmy?

-Yeaaah.emerson says,while playing with the mini kitchen set.

-See,i give the best presents.

-You sure do!Lily says,in a dirty way.She's got that look on the face,like she wants to drop everything and go to our bedroom.

-Babe,i would very much like that,but it's only three o'clock,so we'll have to wait a little more?

-Wait for what?Says emerson

-For Josh to be home.We say at the same time,it's good to know she can't understand what's happening.

A few hours later,Josh finally comes home.

-Hey guys,I missed you!josh says while hugging us.

-We missed you more.I say to him.
Me and Josh really bonded over the years.He is the greatest brother in law i could ask for,even though i don't think at him as that.I treat him like my own child,and I love him like one.I also love his bond with Emmy too.He is so protective over her,he never lets anything happen to her.They always play together and I'm pretty sure he took good care for her while we were away.

-So,how were things with Emmy?Was she a bummer?Atlas says.

-No,don't worry,she was the sweetest.I can assure you guys of that.He told us,and then he picked her up and gave her kisses.

-So guys,I wanted to ask you a serious thing..

-What,did anything happen?
