I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock and roll over to continue sleeping without the sun's bright rays hitting my eyes and face. I manage to sleep peacefully and relax back into my comfortable rest for 5 seconds before I start sweating and feel like my feet are on fire. I quickly sit up to see my partner warming himself on my feet knowing full well that his little body burns my skin when he does that. Picking him up and giving him some scratches behind the ears I throw the covers off and get out of bed begrudgingly. Setting him on my shoulder as I head to the bathroom and turn on the water in the sink and rinsing the sleep from my eyes to help me wake up a bit. I quickly brush my teeth and hair and set it into my classic pig tail style, curled with natural makeup style and head downstairs to feed Litten and make some toast for myself.

"what do you think Litten? Wanna do our delivery to the professor last today so we can play with the other pokemon?" He replies with a happy little "meow" and purrs as he finishes his food. I head back upstairs to get dressed after eating my toast and drinking a bottle of fresh milk. I come back downstairs and grab my bag and keys as Litten leaps from the counter to my shoulder again. I lock the door and head over to my scooter, setting Litten in my basket and fastening his helmet and goggles before loading my delivery bags into my side car and checking my delivery order list. We have to deliver 3 cartons of eggs and 4 crates of milk to Mr. Han the baker, 3 bags of pokemon food to nurse joy, and then return for a shipment of supplies to the observatory before taking a delivery of pokemon food and medicine to the professor. Over all this is a pretty easy day, we should finish by lunch and have our lunch with the pokemon at the lab. Litten "meows" cheerfully as I climb onto my scooter and put on my helmet, Rolling peacefully along the countryside dirt road into the small town. I smile seeing all the wild and partner Pokémon mingle with everyone here and live alongside us in perfect harmony. I hear Litten "meow" loudly in panic and screech to a halt, right in time to stop us from hitting a young man running across the street after a Rattata who seems to have a bag of Malasadas in its mouth. "Litten use ember!" I shouted. Litten strikes the wild Rattata right away, scaring it as Litten's ember had burned the wild Rattata's tail making it run away and leave the bag of food behind. I park my scooter to the side of the road and pick up the bag of food before walking it back to the young man and handing it to him. "Sorry for nearly hitting you with my scooter, but next time please don't run into the street. You could have been very badly hurt if Litten hadn't warned me in time to stop." Litten "meows" loudly again and points at a nearby standing clock, letting us know we are almost late to our first delivery appointment. "Oh no! Sorry again about almost running you over, I have to go now just please try and be careful next time! Bye!" I hopped back onto my scooter and sped off, making it just in time. "Sorry about being late Mr. Han, it won't happen again I promise." He smiles and pats my head "It is quite alright Celeste, a few minutes wouldn't of hurt anyone. Besides I much rather prefer you coming in safe and late rather than coming in on time with injuries like before." He said. I smiled and nodded at the memory, "I will keep that in mind Mr. Han, take care now we are off to our next delivery." We wave to each other as I leave and head to my next delivery.

Soon after we finish our route in the town and head over to the professor's lab, pulling up to the curb I slow down and park next to my usual spot. I carefully climb off my scooter and take off my helmet, hanging it on the handle and helping Litten with his own gear. I grab the supplies and head inside with Litten on my tail, following me happily and smiling at the large pristine lab ahead of us. Litten goes in through the poke door and pulls the little lever that opens the door for me, letting me in and ringing a bell, signaling to the professor we have arrived. I set the bags of supplies onto the counter and take a seat there myself while grabbing a green apple for me to snack on and taking a bite of it. We wait a few minutes there together till the professor comes out and greets us happily with a smile. He pets Litten's head gently before doing the same to me while thanking us for our hard work. We sit there chatting for a bit, catching up and exchanging pleasantries as we always do. "Ah James, come and meet my two good friends here. This is Celeste and her partner Litten. They do deliveries around town and help me with my research and caring for the pokemon." I hear the professor say as the same young man from earlier comes around the corner and greets us. "Hi I'm James Warrior and this is my partner Treeko, thanks for helping out my uncle. He's a bit kooky so my mom worries for him a lot. nice to know someone is looking out for him." He says. I smile in return and reply, "I'm thankful I didn't run over your grandson then professor."

The professor looks at me in surprised confusion ,"Do I even want to know?" I smile back at him in reply and tuck some hair behind my ear ," probably not but I'll tell you anyway." I explain to him what had happened that morning and how his little stunt made me late to my first delivery. The professor laughed so genuinely, it had been a while since I'd heard him laugh like this. I was afraid if I spoke another word he would go back to the sad smile he always had on his face and the lost look in his eyes. I looked over to James and saw him wearing the same smile, he had a dimple show on the right side of his face. His eyes seemed to glow from joy and I realized not only did he look a lot like the professor but also may be the one that will keep him from feeling so lonely. The professor has been alone for so long till I came along, I could never replace the feeling of a real family. From what I know, he had a falling out with his daughter that led her to run away and his wife had gotten sick and died. He has been alone for over 20 years and I saw him as my own father figure. But I also get regular letters and emails from his daughter asking me how he has been. I guess even their fight wasn't enough to keep her angry at him, she must be a very forgiving person.

Litten meows at me, catching my attention as I notice what the time is on the wall clock behind him, "alright bud we better leave now or we will be missing our lunch with the Pokemon in the garden." We say our goodbyes to the professor and James before leaving them both with Litten following me close behind. We start gearing up before I hear a loud blast and black smoke surrounds us. I hold Litten close to me waiting for the smoke to fade and feel netting go around us and the feeling of my feet leaving the ground makes me scream in fear. I can hear James and professor yell for me and Litten which makes me even more afraid, I don't want them hurt to. Litten tries to burn away the net, cut it with his claws, and tear at it with his teeth. It's no use though we are trapped with no way out! I'm scared! I don't want to lose anyone else! We are above the smoke cloud and up way too high for my liking. "We are up way too high, cuddling Litten is helping though."  I think to myself.

Before long I hear someone calling my name, I force my eyes open to see James and Treeko riding the professor's Dragonite. "James!" I smile seeing him until I see a beam of fire hit them and knock him off of Dragonite's back. I scream for him until we get flown off into the woods, I scream and struggle to break the net. I feel the material cut my hands and realize its thin titanium wire. "No wonder Litten couldn't break free!" I keep struggling to pull it open at least enough for Litten to get through, my blood starts to soak the wires and lubes them enough to make it easy for him to slip through. I see a tree nearby and without a second thought I scoop up Litten and slip him through the hole. I watch as he lands on the tree and chases after me, "Litten! Don't Follow! Just Get Help!" My heart breaks seeing him cry for me, but I want him safe more than anything right now. And if anyone can get me help he can, that much is for certain.

Before long I lose sight of him, and we become hidden by the trees. I am so very scared right now and I silently pray that everything will be ok. We eventually stop and land inside what looks to be a hidden base, which becomes most apparent when the side of a hill was suddenly turned into a large gate. I get taken inside and watch sadly as the door closes, panic rising in my heart but I force it down to try and keep a brave face. I won't let them know I'm afraid of them, I have faith that Litten will get James and save me.

I soon feel the cold metal floor against my bottom and realize I've been released. I quickly scramble out of the net and try to make a break for the door. I suddenly get tackled and pinned to the ground, struggling and squirming against them while screaming for help. I feel a burning sensation on my face and place a hand to it to realize I've been slapped hard like a red headed step child. It hurt and I fought the urge to cry from the pain. I see my attackers hand come down for me again and I knee him in the groin before rearing a leg back and kicking him off of me. I flail into a sitting position and keep my guard up as a few others surround me. Some holding what looked to be tazer guns and some even holding police batons? Most of them didn't have a weapon of any kind except their own hands. Perhaps they weren't well equipped to deal with someone like me after all. I growl as menacingly as I could and try to make myself look bigger. A weak attempt I'll admit but an attempt nonetheless. It seemed to shake some of them, probably thought I was crazy and maybe I am. Who else puts up a fight with someone twice their size with bloody hands and tries to appear like a feral animal except maybe someone that's crazy. I start hurling obscenities and insults at them as I slowly back away from them, hoping to get as close to the door as possible to break free and get back to Litten.

Behind me I start hearing some slow claps and a hauntingly familiar voice I'd hoped I'd never have to hear again for as long as I lived. I turn around with a blank face and straightened myself so I can look him in the eyes.

"Hello Father."
