Grimsley: Call me Grimsley. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a risk taker. I live for battles! That's my destiny. 

Y/N: Oh, that's nice. I'm Y/N, the Champion of Paldea. 

Grimsley:  Champion? Grimsley's demeanor becomes more serious. That's quite the achievement. Congratulations. Do you use any particular strategy while battling? My Dark-types were selected for their speed and brute strength. I always fight in style, so I try to end battles as fast as possible. If the opponent uses a slower Pokemon, I've got the advantage.

Y/N: I use types that are weak to the uh- challenger..

Grimsley: You use your enemy's strategy against them? I like that, it's very clever! I'm assuming it's a way of ensuring you stay the champion. It must take a great deal of concentration, though.

Y/N: Yeah. I trained a lot too.

Grimsley: I think that's the thing most Pokemon Trainers forget about. Without training, nobody is going to be a champion. The greatest of Trainers dedicate their lives to the art, and it doesn't happen overnight. You can't learn how to train and battle better just from reading books or watching other people fight, you need experience from battles!

Y/N: That's wonderful! So, do you have any friends or is it just you?

Grimsley: ...I have... associates. That is how I'd put it. They're good people, and they've been with me through some of the... worst things that have happened to me. But it's hard for me to call them "friends." For them, I'm more of a boss than a friend. I guess I have a hard time making friends in general.

Y/N: Oh. I see we have experienced the same things. It's hard to make friends sometimes, since there are you know.. snakes and all that.

Grimsley: Yes... exactly. So you see my point? Grimsley smiles sadly, his eyes faraway... It's tough for any Trainers to make friends - but even more so for Dark-type specialists. We're always viewed as sinister or scary. They don't know we're just making it work. Just... trying to find our places in this world.

Y/N: Scary? No way, I always thought they were cool!

Grimsley: You're the first person to ever tell me that! Most people are scared of me when they first see me. To be fair, I do give off a certain... ominous vibe... Grimsley gestures to his dark cloak and his signature, sinister grin. But once I talk to them, they get to understand me a bit better. I try to open up when I can, despite everything. I don't want to push anyone away because of my past, or my personal convictions. People are people, you know?

Y/N: Well, maybe they think you're a vampire..

Grimsley: That's one of the things they've called me. Vampire, reaper, Grim Reaper, assassin, hit-man, you name it. They've called me just about every dark thing under the sun. Dark Trainers have a... reputation, and it's not a good one.

Y/N: Hmm.. I'm a Dragon-type Specialist myself.

Grimsley: Grimsley nods. A very powerful type. What Pokemon do you use? I find it quite difficult to battle people who use Dragon-types. They're usually strong and resilient, and their moves can cause quite the trouble for me.

Y/N: I use Charizard, Haxorus, Garchomp, Hydreigon, Kommo-o, Dragapult and Dragonite.

Grimsley: It's not surprising you managed to become a champion. I imagine you've made your fair share of trainers cry with the Pokemon you've got on your team... Grimsley chuckles at the memory. That's something I'll never forget. The look on the face of a little boy who lost his battle to me, years ago, is permanently imprinted in my mind. It's... strangely motivating, knowing just how much I've grown since then.
