Getting Late!

Detention was over pretty quick, because Josh and I argued all the way through it about whose fault it was that we got there. We didn't get told off for trying to rip each other's heads off with our language, because the teacher looking after us was asleep behind a stack of papers thinking we wouldn't be able to tell. However the smart asses Josh and I are, decided to practice our drawing skills, with the canvas being the teachers face. We practiced drawing the cliche moustache and beard and I was about to draw glasses, when Josh had another idea. He took the marker back from me and wrote 'I'm pregnant' on the teachers shirt, then he drew cows udders under it and finished off by drawing tears coming from her eyes. After that we marvelled at our work and I took a couple of pictures with me and Josh standing beside the teacher. Finally, we decided to call it a day and left the classroom early and when I looked at the time...

"Shit! It's 4:48!" I needed to get home, get ready, and pick up my friends then make sure I was at the race track by 6:00. I know the race didn't start at 6:00 but the owner, always wanted the racers to be signed in by 6 so there'd be no delays when the race started, which was after the sun was replaced by the moon on night shift.

And, on top of already being late, I came to school with Layla, so basically I was stranded at school with no ride. Then it hit me...

"Joshhh," I said in overly sweet voice as he was turning to walk way away.

"Yesss." he replied with the same amount of sarcastic sweetness.

"Can you pleaseee give me a ride home?" I asked while pouting my bottom lip.

"Why?" he questioned cautiously, "Oh, the race." he replied to himself simply. I nodded, "So you don't wanna be late to watch the race, is that it?" he asked. I smiled inside, little did he know that I wasn't only going to watch it, but take part in it.

Oh, wait. Before I continue, the race is a competition which is held just outside the town, where drivers from around the town get together and battle it out to get to the top of the league table, currently I was at the top, that's right a girl. In all of their sexist faces!

"Yeah, please, I need to get there!" I continued while I increased the pout on my bottom lip.

"Fine, get in, but only cus ya know how much the races mean to all of us." he said while walking away expecting me to follow.

"Wait, I just need to go get my jacket." I said while running down towards the lockers which were at the other end.

"Hurry! I ain't waiting more than 10 seconds." he called after me.

After I got my jacket, I strolled outside towards the parking lot, where I saw Josh leaning again his sleek black Jaguar. He was dressed in Black washed out jeans with a white shirt that had writing on which I couldn't quite read because his black bad boy jacket covered it. He had his hair in a messy quiff, which may I say is one of my weaknesses and had white and black combat shoes, which matched his outfit perfectly. But the beauty behind him compared nothing to Josh, sure he had a built body which wasn't too muscly and not too thin, but the machine, the machine was just something else.

"Checking me out?" he asked cockily while raising his right eyebrow.

"What, eww no! I was just falling in love with the beauty behind you." I said honestly while walking up to him.

"Yeah, she is something." he said while walking around his car and into the driver seat. I to got into the passenger seat and we rolled out of the almost empty parking lot. All the way over to my place we bickered about random stuff to keep us entertained. Of course I didn't have to give him directions to my house because he already knew where I lived, just like I knew where he lived. Like I told you, both our parents know each other from 'wayyy back'.

Not long later, we pulled into a large driveway which split up and rejoined at the entrance of the house, forming a circle shape around a patch of grass which showcased a large marble fountain in the middle, it looked like something out of a movie. That's kinda how my life felt at times, my parents were there for me when I was growing up, but know they were pretty busy with their jobs, which I didn't really mind, because the maids would never pry to much about where I was going when I left for the races.

"Yo, I ain't gonna take you inside." Josh said while clicking his fingers in front of my face. I rolled my eyes and got out of the car and made my way up the stairs and inside after waving at Josh and thanking him for the ride.

A while later and I was dressed in skinny black jeans, a white top, a black jacket and converses. My hair was left loose and messy because I didn't have time to do anything to it.

I excused myself by telling Maisy, my second mother that I was going out and she was to busy in the kitchen to ask where. My parents had to go out for the next two weeks because of some work so I was left with the maids. I didn't really mind and if I had a problem I could go to Maisy.

I ran outside and into the large garage which was filled with veichles. I went over to a car which was covered in a white sheet and yanked the sheet off and let it fall to the floor. This was my racing car and I always kept it covered for obvious reasons. I slid into the pass anger seat of my shiny black mustang. Don't get me wrong I had a Ferrari and a Lamborghini along with all those other flashy cars, but the mustang was a special gift from my parents and it had been specially made for me. It even had my name embossed on the drivers seat. I mean who needs extra speed when your an awesome racer that can push speed.

Moments later Adam was in the passengers seat and Layla was in the back. Once we got to the race track I dropped them off where the crowd couldn't see us and they gave me good luck before slipping away discretly. I didn't want anyone knowing I was a racer even though I wouldn't get in trouble or anything, I just liked to keep it a secret.

After Layla and Adam took the passes I have them which they needed to get through security, I got some for free because I race, it was up to them to get through the large crowd and up to the front. It was 6:01 and I had to hurry up and sign in if I wanted to take part in the race, so I opened the compartment opposite the passenger seat and took out my black masquerade mask. What? I needed to hide my face and I wasn't going to wear a stupid balaclava. Plus the mask did the trick, even I couldn't tell it was me.

After signing in for the race and being told off by the event organiser Mark Millington for being late I drove my at to where all the other racers were lining up and made sure my car doors were locked, I put my head back and just shut my eyes for a moment to escape from all the shrieking and yelling. Eventhough all my windows were tinted, these people knew that it was my car.

"Speed!" a familiar voice shouted while tapping on the driver window yelled. I rolled down the automatic window to see him smiling at me. He was my inspiration as to why I'd started to race.
