CHAPTER 17 NEVER JUDGE A BOOK PART 1

Darren POV

As I'm walking down the corridor I spot Alice, and I turn the other way, "Your majesty!" She shouts and I turn around in annoyance, "What is it Alice? I don't have time for your shenanigans today." I honestly wasn't in the mood to deal with her.

"I wanted to talk to you about what happened at the party, I honestly had no idea about what was happening with the guards, you have to believe me." She's really trying to convince me? Yeah right, I scoffed at her, "If that's true then why didn't you say anything during the party, why tell me weeks after? It doesn't exactly look good for you." I say to her and she gives me a bored look, "If I had said anything at the party everyone would have thought I was just trying to cover my own ass, not to mention I've tried talking to you about it but every time I tried to catch you, you would either turn the other way or flat out ignore me." I guess that's true,

"Even if you didn't know you had suspicions, one's you didn't tell me about." I reply and glare at her and she flinches, "I admit I did see one of the guards being a little rough with his mate, and when I asked about it he told me that his mate liked it a little rough, and we both know that I've had some bruising because a certain emperor likes to be a little rough." She crossed her arms and lifted a brow at me, I refuse to meet her eyes, because she was right, I always liked to be a little rough in bed with my wives.

I sigh, "Do you swear to me that you knew nothing about this?" I ask her, "I swear upon my family name that I knew nothing about the abuse that was being dealt to the omega clan leaders of Ardor, Frost, Asear, Falen, Vallen, and Inter." I stood there shocked, she just made the family oath, I'll explain the family oath is a sacred oath that once made creates a type of tattoo on one's arm, if someone lies while the oath is active then the tattoo grows and creates excruciating pain to the person,

Then I saw it, the tattoo, but surprisingly it didn't grow, which means she's telling the truth she really didn't know. "You didn't have to make the sacred family oath, you didn't have to go that far." I say as the tattoo disappears, "I wanted you to know the truth, and making that oath is the best way to show my sincerity." She replies, I smile at her, "It seems I misjudged you, and I would like to make it up to you." I tell her, "You could make it up to me tonight," she smiles as she caresses my bicep, I look down at her and smirk, it has been a while since I've had any fun with one of my empresses, "It's a date." I tell her as I grab her chin and lean down to give her a very heated kiss, we both break apart but only for air, and with one last smile I turn around and go to my office.

Alice POV

As the emperor, leaves I realized that I need to talk with the new fourth empress, even though I wasn't a fan of his, when I heard about what his family put him through I realized that he had a hard life and the fact he persevered does prove he would make a great empress, as I cast a portal spell, I walk through and am just outside the gates, I sense the barrier he made, I heard he not only destroyed Darren's barrier but created his own in just seconds proves he's definitely proficient with magic,

I'm pulled out of my thoughts as a guard comes up to the gate, "Who goes there?" He asks, "I am Alice Magus Stoneright first empress, I've come to see the fourth empress, Daniel Gemson." I say and the guard immediately let's me through, I get to the palace and am instantly shown inside by one of his household members, the leader of the frost clan, I sit in the living room and within two minutes, I see him come down the stairs, and once he comes up to me I curtsey, "I greet the fourth empress Daniel Gemson." I say and he bows to me, "I greet the first empress Alice Magus Stoneright." He says, we then sit on opposite sides, "I must admit I am shocked that the first empress would come all the way down here to visit me." He says, I straightened myself up, it's time to clear the air. "We need to talk." I say to him, then he crosses his legs and places his hands over his leg, "I'm all ears." He said seriously.
