The night Daella Targaryen was born was a night that should have been celebrated like all the other babes that belonged to Viserys Targaryen.
But it wasn't.
Instead the babe stayed in a room in a maids arms crying and crying. Nobody could calm the babe, not even King Viserys himself. His presence just made the babe scream more.
Eventually the maids had enough and put the babe in her crib and left her alone to cry, realizing nothing was gonna console this babe.
A knight, Criston Cole, stood guard outside her chambers, a headache started forming for him as he's forced to listen to the wailing babe.
He slowly cussing out the maids who gave up in his head, all the midwives who clearly failed at their job.
His attention was quickly brought back to reality, with two pairs of feet being heard scattering on the floor on the halls.
When the feet suddently stop, two sets of eyes could be seen lurking around a corner.
They lock eyes with Criston cole, he could see the red blood shot puffy eyes of prince Aegon and prince Aemond.
The two boys who just lost their mother.
The boys make there way to the knight.
As Aegon stands infront of Criston Cole, looking up at him as he towers over the two little boys. Aemonds even smaller frame hiding behind Aegon slightly shaking in fear and sadness. Sadness for the loss not only they are experiencing but the kingdom as well.
"We want to see her." Aegon says with pure assertiveness trying not to falter his tone. Trying to come off brave even though he's just a child himself.
"The babe needs rest, not two little boys bothering her." Criston said in a tired and gruff voice, his headache still stinging in the back of his head. Like a bee stinging over and over again.
"It'll only be for a minute. She's all we have left of her sir. Please." Aemond peaks out from behind his brother, begging Criston cole in a soft shy tone. Also knowing he's guilt tripping the man with his words.
Criston sighs at the two boys and but still goes to open the doors to the babes room for them to enter. "You both have 5 minutes." Crying from the babe could still be heard, but with the door open it was much louder.
The two boys scampered into the bedroom. The door closing quickly behind them, Criston not wanting to hear the crying continue.
Aemond covers his ears at the noise of the crying babe, it starting to prick his head as well. But the older boy, Aegon makes his way right over to the crib, ignoring the crying noise.
He peaks his head over the railing and his eyes lock with shiny bright violet eyes.
A little baby girl, small and frail looking. Purple bags under the girls eyes, ghostly white skin, but her eyes, a light pastel purple that he cant look away from.
Her cries start to lower into a whine, the babe lifts her hands up towards the older boy, Aegon out of some form of instinct reachs his hand into the crib.
The babe grabs ahold of his pointer finger and grips it lightly. Her cries completely disappear as she becomes awestruck by the boy. All she does is stare at him and lay quietly, gripping and tugging on his finger.
"I wanna see Aegon. Stop hogging her." Aemond, finally being impatient sticks his head into the babe's view, wanting to see what she looks like.
Her eyes quickly lock onto Aemonds, his breath halts as he feels stuck in place. The babe tilts her head as she looks up at both these unknown boys with a glint of curiosity.
When Aemond feels like he can breath again everything comes rushing back to him. Its like she literally took his breath away. She is a very cute babe, but it also felt like something else. Like she belonged with him somehow, with both of them.
Aemond slightly pushes Aegon out of the way and tries reaching his hand into the cradle for her told hold. "Come on, hold my finger, im the better big brother." A smile plastered on Aemonds face, never faltering.
As the two boys begin to bicker infront of her on whos the better brother, she doesnt let Aegons finger go but with her other hand she grabs Aemonds finger. Gripping both of the boys tightly.
It draws both of there attention back to her as she just stares at them both with a bright smile on her face. Both looking at her with shocked faces.
Then, the giggle. So bright and light. It was music to both the boys ears. They wanted to hear her giggle more. See her smile more. Make and keep her happy.
"I will always watch over you and protect you, little sister. Forever." Aegon swore to the babe who they didnt think understood a single thing of what they he said. If he only knew the truth.
She just stared up at her brothers with a bright smile on her face.
Aemond, inside his head agreeing with his brother but not wishing to say it out loud.
From behind the boys, Sir Criston Cole could be seen peaking in as he got worried the babe stopped crying.
He was relieved when he saw she was safe and he just shut the door, leaving the boys with her, knowing he can trust them being in her presence since they were the ones to safely stop the babes crying.
The next morning when the maids came in to check on the babe, they found both the targaryen boys passed out next to her crib, snoring away.
And the babe, the princess, sound asleep still holding onto the fingers of her big brothers, but a big smile still on her face as she sleeps peacefully.
No worry on her face. Her unknowingness of what her future will hold for her.
Will she get to have her one and only true dream come true? Or will she loose the only two people she will ever love?
