Summary:
Enid Sinclair doesn't seem to like things like holding hands, hugging and kissing when it comes to her not-quite boyfriend Ajax.
When it comes to her gloomy albeit loveable roommate however...
———————————————————
Enid and Ajax had been sort of not-quite dating for a awhile now. And you see as much as Enid liked the stoner boy, she could never stand the intimacies between them.
She told herself over and over again that she would eventually get over her initial disgust when it came to kissing, but the uneasy feeling was still there when the two of them would make out. She had always dreamt of having a picture perfect romance and this was far from it. If only she could decode the reason as to why.
It was a sunny afternoon and all Enid could do was lay on her bed feeling sorry for herself. She wished the sun could infect her with it's overbearingly bright attitude today.
Enid pulled out her earphones that were blasting music in her ears and sat up to talk to her gloomy roommate, "Wednesday?"
Wednesday immediately picked up on Enid's dejected tone.
The Addams girl turned around to face Enid properly with a look of concern on her face, "Don't tell me that boy of yours has done something to upset you again, I already gave him his last warning."
"No, no, nothing like that... It's me. I'm the problem," Enid bit her lip nervously.
Wednesday looked stunned at the blonde girl's admission, "Whatever do you mean by that?" She raised a curious eyebrow.
Enid hesitated before confessing the truth, "I don't like kissing Ajax all that much..."
Wednesday's response to Enid was immediate, "Well I'd imagine so, boys are unhygienic creatures by nature," she spoke nonchalantly.
Enid looked up from where she had been picking at her nails, "Really? So it's perfectly normal to feel this way?"
Wednesday thought for a moment, "I suppose so, yes."
A feeling of relief washed over the blonde girl,"Thanks Wednesday!"
Wednesday had to stop herself from smiling dumbly at the other girl, "Now please keep the noise down so I can work on my novel without any distractions."
"My mouth is zipped shut from here on out!"
——
Enid was feeling much better during the days after her conversation with Wednesday. It seemed like every girl experienced some level of disgust when it came to dating boys; which meant her feelings were completely normal and she wasn't going crazy as she originally thought she was.
What she wasn't feeling so good about however, was the fact that she had to sit and listen to Xavier's lovesick ramblings. The tortured artist was getting on her last nerve recently.
Yoko wanted to sit with the Fangs today, so Enid was blissfully alone until the Thorpe boy decided to make himself her company. Xavier had sat down across from Enid looking like a kicked puppy before going on an unwarranted tangent about his hopeless crush on her roommate.
"I mean she's been sending me all these signals and everything, but when I ask her out on dates and stuff she keeps making stupid excuses. It's always 'you wouldn't be able to handle me' or something like that."
She had been listening to him for too long. Enid was at her wits end and it was high time that she knocked the boy off of his high horse, "Or maybe Wednesday just doesn't like you like that."
