—————————— chapter five, doctors visits and deep thoughts " COMFORTING MY JULES AND QUALITY TIME WITH MY BROTHER IN LAW, WHAT COULD BE BETTER?" ( pre episode two ) [ tw ] ——————————
Juliet has always hated the doctors, they were the vain of her existence, especially since she'd been to several different emergency rooms in the past five years under several different aliases.
Today she would be going in for a routine check up and giving her statement to the police, she would have to show them each of her scars and explain the stories behind them.
As she and Jackson got into the Jeep, which they borrowed from Jeremiah, she let out a deep sigh, leaning her head back against the seat, she closed her eyes, "I really don't want to go." She told him quietly.
"I know," He nodded, "And I wish we didn't have to, but we do, so we're just going to go and get it over with as soon as possible," He told her, "Believe me, Jules, I would rather take you anywhere other than the doctor right now but it has to be done." He looked over, patting her shoulder, "Maybe after we can go for ice cream."
She peeked one eye open, "Do I like ice cream?" She asked suspiciously, if she did then maybe the doctor would be worth it.
The light inside of him dimmed every time she asked a question like that, he knew she shouldn't have to wonder about those things, "Yeah, everybody likes ice cream." He assured.
She nodded, about to say something else when a knocking on her window stopped her. She turned around to see Jeremiah standing there, making a motion to roll the window down, she obliged and did as asked.
"Hey, wifey, brother in law," He greeted with a nod, "Where are you guys headed?"
Jackson stayed quiet, he didn't want to respond on his sister's behalf, it wasn't his place to tell Jeremiah, especially when he wasn't sure she'd even want him to know.
"Hi, hubby, we're going to the doctor," Juliet said glumly as she looked down at her lap. It isn't that she hadn't wanted him to know, it was that she didn't want him to worry, but she saw no reason to hide it from him, "I have to get some tests done and then give my statement to the police about what happened."
Jeremiah no longer wore a smile, "Can I come?" He asked, surprising both of the siblings in the car, "I mean, only if you want me to, plus, Jackson technically isn't supposed to be driving."
It was true, Jackson didn't turn sixteen for another two weeks, which meant he wasn't supposed to be driving without an adult yet. But he was careful and given the situation he didn't think the cops would mind too much when they showed up.
