based on true story
Two years have passed since he was left to fend for himself on the cold, empty streets. At first, he spent his days running and searching for a familiar, once beloved and trustful face. But no matter how hard he looked, he couldn't find the one he was seeking. He realized that he had been abandoned, left alone in a world that seemed hostile and uncaring.
The days seemed to drag on endlessly as he roamed the streets, searching for some comfort or kindness. Several people tried to reach out to him, offering kind words and gentle caresses, while others provided him with food and water to sustain him. Some even went so far as to build him a wooden shelter to protect him from the elements, and others gave him warm blankets and other gifts to keep him warm. As the dog watched these acts of kindness unfold, he began to wonder if perhaps people were not so bad after all. Maybe, just maybe, there was still hope for love, trust, and joy in this cold and lonely world.
Slowly but surely, the love and kindness of others began to heal the wounds of his past, and he was able to find some measure of happiness and peace in the world. He had his own little wooden house to call home, people who remembered to give him food and water, and friends who shared in his loneliness and helped to keep him company. For a while, he was happy.
But then, on December 29th, as the New Year approached, the noise and sound of explosions and fireworks grew louder and more frequent every day. The dog couldn't understand what was happening, and the noise and chaos made him scared and uneasy. He tried to hide in his shelter, seeking comfort from his friends who tried to reassure him.
One evening, he saw a group of children laughing and playing nearby. The dog loved kids, and he was always happy to play with them. He emerged from his shelter and approached the children, wagging his tail in excitement. But as he drew closer, one of the children threw something toward him.
The dog thought it was a toy, and he ran towards it, eager to play. But then, a loud explosion filled his ears, and he was enveloped in a cloud of smoke. The dog yelped in fear and collapsed to the ground, barely able to stand up and run as fast as he could. The children were following him, laughing and throwing little fireworks at him. The dog heard noises everywhere, the dread and fear making his heart beat faster and faster. He barked and whined, desperate for someone to help him, but there was no one there to come to his aid.
He was besieged, trapped by the fence, and another firework was thrown his way. The dog tried to hide from it, but it was too close, its explosion too loud for him to bear. With that sound, the fear and dread crept into his heart, and it stopped beating forever. His body was left sleeping on the cold snowy ground, with a forever sleep. He never imagined that a human could betray him again, and yet, that is exactly what happened.
As time passed, he was forgotten, his memory fading into obscurity as the years went by. No one was punished for his death, And the fireworks that had taken his life are still being used cruelly by children.
***
It's important to think twice before using fireworks. Not only can they cause distress to animals, such as dogs, who are sensitive to loud noises, but they can also be dangerous for humans if not used properly. Burns and injuries can occur as a result of mishandling fireworks. Instead of using fireworks, consider finding alternative ways to celebrate the New Year
