When Savannah called me the nanny I whipped my head so fast staring at her confused. There was no way she referred to me as the help?
"I didn't know you hired help" the other blonde commented
"Because we didn't" Luke almost yelled
I always had a feeling Savannah didn't like me much but to bluntly disrespect me was too far. We haven't told her we are dating but I'm pretty sure she got the idea we liked each other
"This is Evelyn and she's not Landons nanny" he glared at Savannah and her friends. Wrapping his arm around my shoulder but I felt uncomfortable in front of these people
"Oh... ummm I think I should go check on my husband" one of the ladies said and quickly the others left with her
Savannah was staring at me and I felt so much hate coming from her eyes. I honestly think her comment was racist but I tried to hold back knowing this was Landons mother
"When did this start" she spitted
"Its none of your business Savannah but you owe Eve an apology" Luke stated
The coaches blew the whistles and the kids ran over to the parents. Savannah rolled her eyes and huffed at us as Landon sprinted to us.
"Daddy! Did you see me play" he screamed jumping onto Luke
We all fixed our faces and acted accodoringly for Landon. The tension was still strong between Savannah and I. The way she said I was the nanny replayed in my head and I wanted to leave
"Yea, you played so well bud!" Luke smiled kissing Landons head
He ran over to hug Savannah and as they chatted I started rolling the blanket so we could leave. "I have to go talk to his coach. I'll be back" Luke whispered in my ear
I nodded my head as him and Landon walked back to the field. It was now just Savannah and I standing together. I refused to look at her she was out of pocket for trying to embarrass me in front of her friends
"Luke and I have known each other since college. This little relationship is just him exploring... other things" she spoke harshly hinting that I was an experiment
"Believe me when I say this but Luke will always be mine. We share a child and have a long history of love! So don't think just cause he does things for your granny and invites you around that he's in love" her words hit me hard and I felt my eyes tear up
"One thing you should know about Luke is that he doesn't fall in love Evelyn" were her final words before storming off
I know I shouldn't allow her to get under my skin but everything she said was right. There is obvious lingering feelings between them as they argue everyday and the way she acts towards me. It screams bitter baby momma
Luke walked back over wrapping his arm around me, "Ready to go?"
I gave a small nod as Savannah walked over with Landon tugging her arm
"Well mommy has to go honey but i'll see you tomorrow" she said kissing Landons cheek
"Nice to see you Evelyn" she gave me a fake smile before flipping her hair and walking away. We began walking to Luke's car and I never wanted to leave a baseball field so much. This was such an odd day...
Hours later..."Landon leave Evelyn alone. You've been talking her head off since we left the game" Luke joked as Landon was begging me to watch him do another cartwheel in the living room
