Daniel POV
When my guards told me that the first empress was here I thought it was odd, but I greeted her all the same, now we are in the living room and she's explaining her conversation with Darren to me and how she made the sacred family oath,
When I heard that I was immediately shocked, that's not an easy oath to make and the fact that she's here in front instead of being bedridden for the next week tells me that everything I'm hearing is the truth,
She had no idea about the abuse, and the fact that I'm the one who accused her of it and made her basically hated amongst the dragon clans and especially Darren, when she was completely innocent, makes me feel very guilty.
"I'm sorry that I accused you." I told her, she smiles at me, "It's quite all right given how defensive I was towards the guards I probably would have assumed the same thing.
And in all honesty I thought you weren't fit to be the fourth empress, but after hearing what you've been through by your own family and the fact that you are raising seven children on your own, two of whom are your younger brothers, and to top it off your pregnant with the children of the former friend of your brother, who raped you. But also hearing about how your family has treated you, is greatly heartbreaking.
And I honestly can't believe I supported your sister in becoming the fourth empress." She scoffs and shakes her head, I greatly misjudged her,
"I appreciate it your majesty, and I would like to help you find a way to restore your public image if you'll allow it." I offered, "Thanks that would mean a lot." She says cheerfully, "Well I've taken too much of your time, I should get going, I need to prepare for my very special night with the emperor, it's been a while since we were intimate and I need to clean up." She says and I blush furiously at her statement, "First empress!!" I squeak out while looking at my hands, I look up at her smirking at me, "Don't be so modest, as the empress you'll be getting intimate with Darren soon enough," she then wiggles her eyebrows suggestively, and I swear I'm a fire truck with just how bold she's being. She laughs at my embarrassed face then we hug and say our goodbyes and she leaves, I think she will be a good friend in the future, and this encounter has now taught me to never judge a book by its cover.
