Iv never really believed in love, I mean I sometimes hope there would be someone out there for me but it never really crosses my mind I'm too focused on school and my friends and working in business which I totally hate doing, my parents force me to do these things even when I don't want to do them but that's just the vances making peoples lives miserable one step at a time.

It's Friday evening, I'm upstairs finishing off 'The great gatsby' for a school essay, It's shit, so is every other book I read but have to get those grades up if I want to go drinking with Mia and Holly next weekend. I got a A- in my history essay last week and my mom went all psycho on me that's nothing out of the ordinary, they try and get me too be perfect but I never will, not in there eyes anyways.

"So when Is Scott visiting next?"

"Ugh cassie I called you too help me pick an outfit for tonight not too talk about Scott!"

"Ok fine, well the way you describe the black silk one I'd definitely choose that"

I put the black dress down on the bed and try too find shoes with it.

"Yea I guess, but the red one is way more comfy though"

"Nat it's not about comfort it's about the style"

"You sound like my parents"

I hear and knock at my door and then my mom barges in

"Sorry cass iv gotta go"

My mom stares at me then at the black dress she nods her head

"I love black on you epically the way it brightens your beautiful blonde hair"

"Yea it's nice."

"Here i got you a bow for your hair I think it would look lovely with curls, of course you don't have to wear it, it was just an idea"

I smile slight and take the white bow from my mom she leaves my room and I take a deep breath. I never really liked getting dressed up, maybe when I was in Chicago's pagents when I was 4 but not now, we have a event tonight for my dad who just celebrated the opening of his company 'Vances INC' he's really proud of himself and so is my mom, but I don't really care, And since I'm the daughter of this 'exquisite man' I have to come to the red carpet opening. So I have to atleast look have decent if I'm going to up on the Internet.

"Natalie you have 10 more minutes then we have too leave"

Honestly I think I look okay the black dress fits nice and snug, the black heels are uncomfortable but ill deal with it and the make-up is great since my mom hired some man too do it and my hair is waved, I didn't add the bow because that would be a bit much but I do like how my mother thought of me.

I walked down our spiral stairs and there's my mother and father waiting
Dad's in a nice black suit and
My mom is in red maxi dress with her white purse

"Natalie you look astounding"

"Thanks dad"

The maid opens the door for us and we head to our Mercedes Maybach, honestly sometimes I think my dad loves his cars more then me, he did tell me that they costed alot more then me, so he most likely does.

When we arrive we're immediately swarmed by people and their cameras, our security man Dave holds the car door open and guides us through the front of the 80 foot building. Finally the crowd is behind the fence and we're at the top of the stairs by the main entrance doors
My father is over with the Fishers greeting them and my mom is of course with the Danes.

"Hey"

I hear a voice behind me say, I turn around, it's Scott.

"Hey Scott"

"Nice dress, it fits nicely"

"Thank you, who sponsored your suit tonight?"

"Prada did actually"

I smile and nod I'm pretty confused as too why he's talking to me he usually just ignores me and rolls his eyes, the last time we had a proper conversation was when I was 13, he had pushed my 'boyfriend' at the time in the pool and kept him in there trying too drown him lucky he got out and he was alright, he never spoke to me again after that, me and Scott had a massive fight after and that was that, we never had another proper conversation since, well until now.

"Your dad's really making it up in the world"

He says that with an awkward smile, why do I get the feeling he's nervous?

"Yeah, he is"

We just stand their in silence for a moment then my father comes up to me with his arm around my shoulder

"I'd like to make a speech please. I have worked on this business since I was 20 and of course now I'm 38 and it's officially done. 18 years it took for me to build it from the dirt, up ,now it's sky-rocketing off I already have 290 clients on the waiting list, all of this couldn't of happened without my family and former colleagues who believed in me and forced me too keep going, even when I was at my lowest, I mean I thought why waste all my money and all my time on this if it's not going to work, but look at me now the sign is up 'Vances inc'. We did it. So Ladies and gents let's raise our glasses and celebrate this valuable day because it will be the most beloved day of my entire life. Thank you."

Everyone claps and cheers for my dad while he picks up the huge scissors and cuts the ribbon.

"Vances inc is officially open!!"

Everyone continues cheering I can't help but smile I am really proud of my dad he didn't grow up with this wealth he had to work for it, and I am proud of everything he has done.
