Go To Bed

The soft wind was whistling, making the three's foliage dance. The moon and the stars were clearing the sky, making it a dark shade of blue. Blue, DJ's favorite color.

In Susan's house, the trio was having a sleepover, talking about whatever came to mind. DJ complained about the Attack On Titan lore, Kara wondered why Your Turn To Die was so underrated and Susan kept yelling about how Zubin Sedghi was better than Joe Hawley. After a bit, Susan started yawning. She was the youngest one out in the bunch, babied by the other two, because of her childish behavior and attitude.

''I think it's better if we go to bed, Susan seems tired.'' Kara blankly said, her eyes emotionless and half-lidded like they always were. DJ nodded and squatted to reach Susan who kept screaming.

''JOE HAWLEY IS JUST OVERRATED!! WHAT ABOUT ZUBIN? HIS VOICE IS BETTER, AND- AND- HE'S EVEN HO—'' DJ calmly placed her hand on Susan's mouth, shutting her up.

''It's time to sleep, sis.''

The two brought her to her room, listening to her faint Tally Hall-related complains that got shorter and quieter as time went on, eventually they stopped, she was asleep.

DJ and Kara held their sleeping bags, placing them in position as they both layed on them. Quietly, DJ closed her eyes and dozed off.

She was woken up by a loud screaming noise, she quickly turned her head towards her friends. Susan was still sleeping, and Kara.. was gone. Of course. She got up and ran towards the living room, surprised to see Kara, completely fine, staring at the TV watching a horror movie with the most unamused expression she'd ever made, and trust me she made a lot of them.

''Go to bed.'' DJ mumbled, catching Kara's attention as she turned her head towards her friend.

''Hi, DJ.''

''Go to bed, Kara.''

''I don't feel like it.''

''Susan's gonna wake up, she's gonna be yelling about those guys in ties.''

''I could.. care less.''

DJ glared at Kara, shaking her head. Why couldn't she understand her struggle? DJ sighed and walked around the sofa, sitting on it next to Kara, glancing at the horror movie that was one of the most horrendous things she had ever seen.

''Jesus Christ, Kara! Turn that shit off!''

''How old are you? Twelve? This is literally the most baby-horror movie i've ever seen.''

''Why are you so mean to me, Kara?''

Kara stayed silent, DJ didn't want to repeat herself so she just turned her head towards the TV, the movie was so quiet she was able to hear Kara's heartbeat, that was.. soothing to her in a way. Head still turned towards the TV, DJ glanced at Kara's expression. Her cheeks were a flushed shade of pretty pink, it was the most emotion Kara had ever shown since.. a while. It was more expressive than the time Susan burned her house in minecraft.

''D-DJ.'' Kara's deep voice caught DJ off guard, making her jump slightly, feeling caught as she looked back at the TV, she didn't want to show that she was already looking at her.

''Yeah, Kara?''

''You know, we've been friends for years now,''

Kara adjusted her position, getting eventually closer to DJ, putting her hands in between DJ's legs, sitting on her knees, being now able to stare into those deep blue eyes she loved so much.

''Huh—''

''Why didn't we ever.. go for it?''

DJ's heart was pounding so hard she felt like it was a bomb that was going to explode in seconds, Kara's eyes were not half lidded anymore, they were fully opened, and.. saddened. The cyan waves of the ocean in her eyes were more visible, aswell as white little stars, that were probably the reflection of the TV screen infront of them.

''Kara.. I—''

Kara smiled. (KARA SMILED?! OMG!!) She slowly left a peck on DJ's nose. ''We don't have to, I just.. wanted you to know.''

Kara fixed her position once more, she left DJ alone on her side of the couch. DJ felt obligated to answer, she knew she was gonna leave the next morning with Kara's hand entwined in hers, and she wanted to.

''H-hey.. Kara?''

DJ turned her head towards Kara, she was dead asleep.

''No..''

DJ stepped off the sofa, standing in front of the sitting Kara, noticing a bottle of beer next to the couch.

''No...''

Kara was drunk?! She didn't mean IT?!

''NOOOOO—''

''Hey!''

DJ's eyes widened, as she looked around, noticing Susan in front of her, her eyes purple like raging thunderstorms.

''Go.To.BED.''
