Ginny~~~

Ginny glanced across the gryffindor table at Harry, he was laughing at something Ron had said while Hermione shook her head in disappointment. “Careful sister, he’ll catch you staring,” Fred whispered into her ear,
“Yes, how embarrassing that would be,” George mocked. Ginny gulped and stared back at her breakfast. He was the chosen one, the one everyone wanted, and she was one of the only ones who could have him. She finished her eggs before running back to her dorm room, she had quidditch practice and she needed to change.

“Gin! Hi! Are you going to quidditch practice?” Luna asked, joining her side as she climbed down the stairs. “Uh, yeah,” she said, pulling her hair into a ponytail.
“That’s great! I’m going to practice some commentary for tomorrow's game! We can walk together.” She said sweetly. They walked down to the quidditch pitch when Luna gasped and stopped, “what?” Ginny asked. Luna didn’t respond and simply pulled a jar out of her bag. Ginny stared at the jar only to discover it was filled with live butterflies. Luna gently wafted a purple butterfly into the jar before screwing the lid on and putting it away. “Do you always just, have butterflies on you?” Ginny asked.
“Not always, mostly, they help keep me calm, and I rescue them since they often become casualties of quidditch players.” Luna explained.
“How are they so calm around you?” Ginny questioned.
“Probably the charms,” Luna said, reaching up to touch a purple crystal on her neck. Ginny had no idea why she was so interested, she didn’t believe in any of this, but
somehow she simply wanted to listen to every word that came out of Luna’s mouth.

Ginny waved goodbye to Luna and watched her climb the stairs to the commentators box. She sighed and walked over to her team. She stared across at Harry as he explained the strategy they were working on. He liked her, it wasn’t a secret, and she liked him too, didn’t she? He was smart and good and everything, quidditch prodigy, the chosen one for god's sake. Everyone liked him, and yet she was the one he was focused on, she should like him. He could have anyone, not going out with him would be a mistake right? “Ginny!”
“Huh?!”
“Pay attention!” Angelina snapped. Ginny shook herself and climbed into her broom. She practiced darting around with the others but something couldn’t get out of her mind, why didn’t she like Harry Potter?

Ginny decided to hit the showers to clear her mind, she could be a few minutes late to transfiguration. She scrubbed herself down, trying to wash away the mud, and the thoughts. Was she broken? Why didn’t she like Hogwarts most eligible bachelor? Every moment around him was strange, they talked about quidditch as friends, she didn’t hate him. God. She crossed her arms and tried not to cry. She was stronger than this, she didn’t get possessed by Tom Riddle to be crying over a boy. Tom Riddle. Suddenly memories flooded over her. “Oh god,” she whispered, she slid onto the floor breathing heavily, she’d done everything to block that out. She tugged on her hair, trying to calm down, “everyone ok in there?” A soft voice called.
“Luna?” She choked out. Tom’s face was washed over her vision, her actions being played back with no control. Luna walked around to the showers and caught sight of her scrunched up on the floor. She rushed over and shut off the water, Luna placed a towel over her like a blanket. “Ginny! Are you ok?” She asked, wrapping her arms around Ginny’s shivering body. “I’m, I don’t, I don’t know,” she whispered. Luna looked around nervously. “Come on, let’s get you out of here!” Luna said. Ginny nodded but was otherwise paralyzed and shivering. Luna pulled her up and wrapped another large towel around her. “Can you move?” Ginny nodded. “Everyone will be in class, let’s go,” Luna decided. Leading Ginny down a short corridor to the ravenclaw portrait. “How many minutes in a year?“ the portrait asked.
“525,600, now let me in quickly!” Luna snapped. The portrait swung open allowing them in.

Luna let Ginny change when she was ready and then came back in with a few boxes of chocolate frogs. “Thanks Luna, but this isn't necessary, I’m sorry you had to see me like that,” Ginny said, trying to mask her embarrassment.
“It’s quite fine Gin, and if you think you’re going back to class you're wrong,” Luna said, perching on the bed next to her. They sat in silence for a few moments before Luna spoke, “what did you see?” She asked. Ginny was about to snap back about it not being her business, but she changed her mind, Luna was the kindest person she knew, and somehow she knew that she trusted her with everything. “Tom, it keeps flashing back, I was so stupid,” Luna frowned for a moment.
“You were never stupid Ginny, you were simply so brave that it got you into trouble, but never stupid,”
“How can you say that, I almost got a lot of people killed,” Ginny said, scratching her arm nervously. “Because I know you Ginny, call it what you will, your soul is pretty, if that makes sense,” she said, handing her a frog. Ginny sighed and tried to brush off the compliments. “Aren’t you late for class, you're a ravenclaw, doesn’t this go against your code?” Ginny asked.
“I’m a friend before i'm a ravenclaw,” Luna said. She waved her wand slightly and the curtains around her bed snapped shut. She pulled the jar from her bag and opened it. The butterflies flew out of the jar and started glowing, illuminating the small space and casting a blue glow across Luna's face. “This is also why I have butterflies on me,” she murmured. Then it hit Ginny, she most definitely did not like Harry Potter, and now she knew the reason.
