"Tonight, a downpour of rain conquered the pale sky. The sky was cloudy, nearly purple in color. Terrible whooshing sounds were making me tremble. While lighting and thunder synced with the crazy weather. Every raindrop, I hoped was a crinkle of snowflake. But it was loud and heart aching.
Tears streamed down my face. Partly because of fear but mostly because of what dad did during a thunderstorm 12 years ago.
Flashback
......
"If you dare!" I heard his painful voice behind the door.
"You want to hit me?! Get out! Pack your things and leave! Now!" I heard moms voice trembling while wresting daddy's tone.
"F*ck you. I never loved you, never! You know why, don't play dumb. I don't see what's in your little mind but things aren't working out for me. Im thru." I saw dad counter mom's punches by thrusting her arms to the empty air.
"Burn yourself in hell with your illegitimate shits!"
"I warned you!" Dad's voice rose which was why I barged in their room crying.
"Quinnipie..." Daddy said with the most shocked expression his face had ever made. while mom looked away.
"Papi, no...what are you doing to mama." I said to him while gripping on a blanket.
"Dave, if you're leaving, take her with you. I can't bare seeing a child with a strong feature like yours. It just reminds me of how stupid my descision was of marrying you." Mom broke down to the floor.
I was barely five but I understood a little bit of their sense. Though I don't know why I just kept crying. I held it in but my chest felt heavy and painful. Yes, I experienced that at such a young age.
"Not in front of the child Melissa!"
"You made this happen! It's your fault!"
And I saw dad slap mom across the face. I swooned in between their way screaming the word 'no' a couple of times but I was invisible to them... Invisible.

"Oh daddy..." I cried myself, hands covering my ears. Every time a bolt of thunder reflects into room, my heart skips a beat. I was alone in my dark room. Though I badly wanted someone next to me right now, I told myself not to held that thought within me. My legs were turning numb and streaks of pain were emerging from my left thigh.
Mom was not home yet. It's past 12 and I don't really care. Leo was in the other room with Sarah, his Nanny. I could clearly hear his crying, knowing we had the exact identical phobia; thunder.
Soon enough the rain stopped, keeping the air humid.
I woke up seeing a phantom of shadow right in front of my face, drawing closer, planting a kiss on my forehead. The sun was out but I couldn't foresee the person before my eyes.
"Dad? Is that you, I miss you."
"Shh, don't cry."
"Who are you?"
"I'm here to comfort you. You're dreaming."
"Are you an angel?"
"Guess so" he stood up but I held his arm.
"Don't. Don't leave me. Just in my dreams." I begged. "I'm scared and lonely and I hate it."
---
I was awoken by a sudden jerk on my side. My throat was dry and painful, my eyes were puffy and sore and my face was sticky with dry tears stains.
"What are you doing here? Get off my bed." I raised my sheets higher to my neck, cocooning myself.
