Chapter 9: Winter Formal

~The Next Day~

N I C O L E ' S P O V:

I wake up and stretch as my mom comes in and smiles.

Iris: Good Morning Sweetie! Today is your Winter Formal.

I groan softly.

Nicole: Do I have to go to school?

Iris: No but we're going shopping for your winter formal

Nicole: Mom I don't wear dresses

Iris: I know we're going to find a cute tux for you, who are you going with?

Nicole: Can I go with Marlie?

She looks at me in shock.

Iris: I guess so, but what about Brielle?

Nicole: She's not talking to me, I don't know what I did wrong Mom

I sighed as my mom came towards me and gave me a hug.

Iris: You two will work it out, you will find y'all way I promise

I nodded as we pulled away from the hug.

Iris: get dressed so we can go shopping

Nicole: Alright mom (smiles)

As my mom exits my room, I walk into my closet and get dressed. As I got done, I grabbed my phone off my nightstand and texted Marlie to check on her and see if she was okay.

(Text messages between Marlie and Nicole)

''Hey Mar'' I texts. She read it

I saw bubbles but then it disappeared.

''I just want to check in on you'' I texts again.

She finally texts.

''hi...I'm okay, I'm just teaching class, where are you?'' She texts.

''My mom taking me tux shopping for the Winter Formal'' I texts.

''Oh,'' she texts.

''Will you be there?'' I texts.

''Yes, I'm chaperoning'' she texts.

 ''Will you go with me?'' I texts.

''Um...but'' She texts.

''Pls, I asked my mom and she said yes, Marlie I want to go with you'' I texts.

''What about Brielle? She is still my girlfriend, are you guys talking?'' She texts.

''No, she won't talk to me, I fucked up big time'' I texts.

''I'll go with you, but what about other students they might see us, I can't get in trouble''. She texts.

''Don't worry, Teachers are allowed to dance with students but that's all but I don't care I'ma do more to you than just dance'' I texts.

''Nicole...'' She texts.

''I'm sorry, yeah I'll just dance'' I texts.

I texts again ''See you tonight?''
