Summary:

Enid and Wednesday are going to have their first kiss....if only Enid could stop wolfing out before that happens.

Enid was determined that their second date together would go a lot smoother. At least on her end. She'd tried to impress Wednesday but had only succeeded in embarrassingly passing out before doing anything remotely nice. Wednesday had saved the night, by buying Enid her own stars. Now every-time Enid looked up at the sky she couldn't help but be reminded of Wednesday's love for her.

Wednesday had agreed to another date, this one with Enid showing Wednesday her wolf form, something the girl had been interested in seeing for the longest time.

Normally, wolfing out was something that Enid reserved for the full moon. But this was Wednesday requesting it. How could she not transform for her?

The moon was only half full when they ventured out deep into the woods. When they got to a nice enough spot, Enid paused by a tree. She felt nervous and almost shy now. She didn't just show her wolf form left and right. It was a special thing for her, especially because it had taken her so long to get it. But Wednesday had been the one to bring it out in her, therefore it only made sense that Enid do the transformation for her.

"Are you ready?" Enid asked, giving herself time to mentally prepare.

"Yes." Wednesday's face was hard to read but her voice had a tremor of excitement in it.

Enid inhaled and loosened her limbs, allowing the change to flow naturally over her. Within seconds she stood in front of Wednesday in her full fur form.

"You are a magnificent beast," Wednesday complimented, reaching out a hand. Enid stretched forward, allowing Wednesday to pat her snout.

Enid lowered her body to the ground, indicating Wednesday should climb on so she could give her a ride. Wednesday got on without further questioning. Enid rose up slowly when Wednesday found handholds in her fur. She adjusted for the weight on her back, and then she was off, going at a trot. She'd love to go faster so Wednesday could truly feel how freeing it was to run in wolf form but she was too afraid to drop Wednesday.

They did a few loops around the more traveled areas of the woods, before Enid slowed down and allowed Wednesday to admire the more scenic areas, like the waterfall or the field of lilies swaying brightly under the moon.

Eventually Enid let Wednesday off, panting happily at her.

"I enjoyed that," Wednesday praised, patting Enid on the head. Enid let out a happy sound. "I know you were holding back your speed for me. You needn't do that. I'd like you to show me your full strength."

Oh, did Wednesday want another demonstration? Enid would be glad to oblige. She padded over to a tree that looked thick and strong enough. She rose up on her hind legs and swiped her claw through the tree trunk, splintering it in half and toppling the tree over.

She looked over at Wednesday worried that she'd been too aggressive and accidentally caused some of the wood to hit the smaller girl. Wednesday stood immobile, her bangs sent awry and standing up every which way.

Enid couldn't ask but she could lower her head and approach Wednesday cautiously, sniffling.

"I....I must go to my room and research," Wednesday said, sounding very stiff. "Good evening, Enid." And she swiveled on her heel and walked off.

Had Enid done something wrong? Her ears flattened against her head and she gave a small whimper but Wednesday had already left the woods, heading singlemindedly back to the dorm. Enid would give her time to cool off. In the meantime, she would howl at the moon and worry about what she had done wrong again.
