It was easy for Daella to fake indifference in the fact of her father's dismissal, he didn't care about them. Not for anyone but Rhaenyra, and by her association, her children. It was easy to pretend that she didn't cry when she was alone, that it didn't feel like a knife twisting into her chest when it became clear that he didn't care for them.

Daella learned to avoid her father when he sought her out. He did not care for them, so she would not care for him. Her avoidance and removal of care for her father didn't make it hurt less when  the realization that her father did not care for her reared its head at her.

She wished she could kill her emotions, she wished she could have had the bravery to search for a way to soothe her ache, even if by the means of black magic. But it seemed that all her bravery seemed to leave when she looked at her brother, Aemond.

"Daella..." Aemond's voice was always soft when he came to see her, like he was trying not to scare her. Daella tore her eyes away from the book she stopped reading awhile ago.

The twins had just celebrated their tenth name day, and daella had spent most of that day, avoiding their older brother, Aegon and his drunkard antics, though she did feel pity for him but his eyes, darkened with obsession did not leave her mind.

Daella stared at her twin in contemplation for a few moments as he seemed to glare at the ground. "You've done it again." She said in return, moving over so he could sit with her.

Sit with her, he did. He had just returned from being scolded and comforted by their mother, who had, along with Helaena, fervently questioned him about their sweet Daella's whereabouts.

"They gave me a pig..." Aemond sounded more defeated than she had ever heard anyone be, and she stared at him with furrowed brows. "They said they found a dragon for me, but it was a pig. They gave it wings and everything."

Daella could very well guess who 'they' was. Jace, Luke, and Aegon. There was no doubt about it. Daella sighed out to rid herself of frustrations.

It had been strange back then, despite being the youngest, she had been a child loved by all of her siblings. She had been so slow to see her sibling's obsession with her, and by the time she did, she had already accepted it, she had already loved them. she was already married to her brother and the lover of her sisters.

"Aegon didn't claim Sunfyre until he was ten name days, his egg did not hatch either, so maybe he should not be talking." Daella retorted, taking a look at the sky. "And why do you care what Jace and Luke think, you called them bastards more than once."

"I don't! I just don't think it fair." Aemond's frustrations were not lost on her, maybe it was because she didn't really have the presence of her father in her past life either that despite all of the times her father's switch between nearly interrogating her and favorite her older sister, she had shut herself off completely from him.

That fact nor the fact that both her father and Rhaenyra were advocating for a marriage between herself and Jace were not lost on her.

"Even you, sister. You claimed Cannibal three moons ago." Aemond seemed conflicted by the statement. Of course, he was happy for his twin sister but he had always imagined that he would claim one first and protect his other half.

"Vhaelys." Daella corrected him, irritation crossing her gaze before she tried to reconcentrate on her book. "You'll claim a dragon, Aemond. Be patient."

Aemond scowled further and snatched the book out of her hands and threw it across the garden. "Pay attention to me! I'm right here!" Aemond's scream has startled a few birds from their trees but Daella had not even reacted.

Even if they were twins, connected in this life in ways other could not fathom, Aemond was cut from the same cloth as everyone else. The same nonsensical obsession for her that plagued Daella's other family members.

Her purple eyes gazed at him, not soft or even warm like they had been before. She had to pick her words carefully. "Yes, you are right in front of me."

'I grow tired of all of this.' she thought before standing up and retrieving her book.

"I will be late for my class with the septa." Daella turned back towards the still heaving Aemond with a calm look on her face, completely unsurprised. "Walk with me."

They both knew she had no lessons today but Aemond walked her to her room and Daella let him say his goodbyes before she locked the door to her room and laid on her bed.

"What a painful existence." She mumbled, thinking over his out burst. It was all getting worse. Her mother, father, and grandfather's constant interrogation, her eldest sister's constant babying, the constant look of approval from Luke, the adoration from Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena, the threat of her marriage to Jace.

"Maybe I should run away after all." She murmured to herself, walking towards her closet and pulling out a bag from it.

"It's a idea. Let's put it temporarily on hold until everything calms down."

Yes, and when everything did calm down, she'd finally get the life she had been wanting for years to come. Away from all of this.
