Daniel POV
As our fight continues, I realize just how powerful my sister is, plus she knows my strategy of trying to get her to use her power on my sapphire shield so I can copy her power, but unfortunately she's not falling for it, she's actually thinking ahead, something that also surprises me.
"I think it's time to end this little brother," she smiles evilly at me, just then I realized it's gotten dark out, I look at her and she smirks, my eyes widen in realization, she was stalling, bidding time till it got darker and as a shadow dragon the darker it is the stronger they become, as I'm about to make a shield she beats me to it and slams her fist into the ground, creating another shadow fist, but with the added darkness it was stronger, it clipped me hard and sent me flying backwards, I try to get up but I can't, Just then I hear,
"The battle is over, and the winner is Tina Gemson, and as per the rules of the challenge, Tina Gemson is now the fourth empress," As I finally get up I hear someone coming towards me, they help steady me to my feet, I looked back expecting it to be Tyron but it's Darren, "Are you ok?" He asks as he helps to steady me to my feet, "Yeah but I lost so I'm not the fourth empress anymore, plus now me and the kids have nowhere to go and the guards and household members I have will lose everything." I try not to cry but it's very hard not to when I've just lost everything, "Who said you'll be homeless?" He chuckles, "Your majesty, my daughter has won the match so she inherits the fourth empress palace," My birth giver says smugly,
"Is that so? Well if that's the case then she already has a palace of her own, one that I gave her so if she doesn't want the one she has I can give it to Daniel so he, the children, his guards and household members will have a place to stay." He says cheerfully, "Pardon me your majesty but as I'm sure you're aware only you or one of the empresses can have royal guards or household members." One of the council members speaks, "That is true, however according to the ancient law's of the dragons, the emperor has the right to bestow household members and guards upon anyone as long as they wield a royal title,
You see I did a little digging into the ancient laws of the dragon, and so long as I as well as another royal family member approve it a title can be bestowed upon Daniel, and said title would allow him to keep his household members and personal guards, and as for a palace, since I'd already given Tina Gemson a palace, I can just make that the fourth empresses palace so Daniel and his kids can stay right where they are." Darren tells everyone, "Now wait just a minute, that boy is not the empress anymore, he deserves no special treatment!" My father growls
"He may have lost his title but I can bestow a new title on him, and I have just the one in mind, Daniel Gemson from today onwards you shall be known as The Matriarch, this title means that you will be the royal advisor to myself as well as the empresses, and not only that I am officially making your palace a neutral zone, meaning any and all forms of fighting shall be prohibited while on your land's, your home shall also be a safe haven for those seeking shelter, no one not even I the emperor shall be able to force you to do anything while on your own lands." Darren spoke with dominance and power, "And as the first empress I Alice Magus Stoneright bear witness to this title being made and approve of it's meaning." Alice spoke on my behalf, "Then as the members of the dragon council, we have no choice but to agree to this title.
Daniel Gemson, from today onwards you shall now be referred to as the Matriarch, may your reign bring prosperity." The council members spoke then bowed to me, my family was in shock, hell I was in shock,
"Are you kidding?! He doesn't deserve a title, I won the match I'm the fourth empress!!" My sister growled, "That's true, you are the fourth empress and that means you'll receive all the things that the title offers, but you cannot object to the emperor creating a title for a former empress, especially when it doesn't have anything to do with you, and not only must you prove your worth to keep your title as the fourth empress, you must also create a title for yourself.
Daniels title was the great mystic of the icy waves, his title was based on his proficiency for magic, I'm guessing you weren't aware that Daniel can insta cast, or that he can interrupt others magic instantly, he destroyed the barrier I put around his palace and placed his own up in seconds, and not only that but his barrier could change it's magical wavelength and become stronger the more times it's attacked, and it also has a paralyzing effect on anyone who tries to interfere with it. This is the legacy of the fourth empress, you had best have proof you can live up to that legacy." Darren growled out, everyone then stared at me,
Darren you idiot, why'd you have to tell them that?!, Even Alice was shaking her head at him when he told everyone what I could do, hell even Tyron face palmed and shook his head, "What?" Darren looks at me, Tyron and Alice as we all glare at him,
