Before this chapter continues, and confusion sets in, Susie slipped up and mentioned the homework AFTER they went to the cyber world. Thanks for understanding

Kris had already spent two days without returning to the dark world, and spent them working on his project with Noelle, bERDLY, and Susie. Them, being banished until their homework was done, had really nothing else to do.

They equally split up the work, though Kris knew he'd likely get stuck with whatever Susie had left to do this week. Needless to say, expectations were high, because not only did they have a group of four, but the smartest 3 in class, plus Susie, who everyone wanted there.

Kris often found himself looking back on the time he spent in the dark world, and what they did there. He most often thought of Ralsei, the sweetest person he had met in a long time, the person who helped them the whole way through their adventure, and (if Kris was being honest) the most attractive.

Ralsei spent this time renovating on the castle, getting down every detail he thought fit. The place looked less abandoned and more lived in than ever before. Ralsei regretted the minute he sent them away, as the loneliness came back the moment they left. Though, he was powerless now, and at the mercy of Kris and Susie not taking forever.

At the end of today's work session in the computer lab, everyone went away.  Noelle went to visit her dad, and berdly left to his home. Kris and Susie went to Kris's house, to ask if she could stay over for the third day in a row.

When they arrived, toriel obviously agreed, as Susie was a friend of Kris, and very helpful around the house. Toriel had been working on a present for her, she had recently learned to crochet, and started on a pink blanket for her, as she usually slept without one, and never brought one of her own. Toriel feared she didn't have one, and  winter was soon approaching.

After doing some chores, Kris was sent off to his bedroom. There, he laid on his back, staring at his ceiling. He tried to go to sleep, but it was like he wasn't tired. 9:30 is his usual bed time, and it was a little strict, too. It's been getting harder and harder for him to sleep, though he hasn't been noticing a pattern, as it's only happened in the last two days.

Kris silently got up from his bed, and borrowed his brother's desk. There, he took out a plain piece of paper, and began writing a letter, which read;

"Dear Ralsei,

Me and Susie have made incredible progress on our project, and were wondering when we could return... And... Thank you. You helped me a lot the last four days, even though you were only present in two of them. I've made two new friends, or rather, one new friend, and rekindled my friendship with the other.  ̶I̶ ̶l̶o̶ ̶  ̶I̶ ̶m̶i̶s̶s̶ ̶   I'm glad I met you.

      -Kris"

Kris had this backup plan for weeks, in the case he would ever have to sneak out, though the front door was blocked by Susie and his mom, who were both heavy sleepers, though he didn't want to risk it. Instead, he opted for the window, as he had experience with that. He opened his window and wondered if this was a good idea. He looked back, and then looked down out the window. He stepped out the window, both legs, catching himself with a vine. He gently closed his window behind him and jumped off the vine, that snapped under his legs as he jumped.

It gave him a small cut down his leg, which bled through his pants. He would have stopped to tend to it, but he had more important things to do, and he began racing down to the school.

When he arrived, he was surprised to find the double doors were unlocked. He held his breath, and crept into the supply closet. He jumped down, and stared up above his head, as the light from above faded away.
