Just like the movies [A Katy Perry Fanfiction]

Chapter 1- Long time no speak

John lay staring at the ceiling, he had found the past few weeks rather boring and was starting to get sick of doing practically nothing every day. He missed having someone to cuddle up to, even if he wasn't truly in love with whoever it was, he found it comforting knowing he wouldn't be alone at night, he also missed the 'fun' he could have. Sick of just lying there he got up and went into the living room, sat on the sofa and turned on the TV. He laughed a little to himself when he saw that a Katy Perry documentary type thing was on the music channel, it got him thinking back to when they went on a few dates, the fun they had, Katy was completely different to any of the girls he'd met, she was funny, extremely weird but in all the best ways and obviously, beautiful. She was the only girl he had ever had real feelings for; unfortunately they only went on a few dates and then stopped when Katy decided to get with Russell. They still texted for a bit after but didn't tell anyone because Katy didn't want Russell to find out. John sighed wishing that he'd made a bigger effort to keep Katy, then he remembered...she's not with him anymore. John had her number on his phone, they hardly talked anymore, just the odd text every now and again and whenever Katy got a new phone she'd send John her new number. He typed her in on his contacts and found her number, might as well ask her for a coffee or something.

J: Hey it's John, I know this is out of the blue, I just wondered if you wanted to get a drink sometime?:)

He got a reply almost instantly

K: Heey! Long-time no talk, sure, sounds good to me;) Where and when?

John smiled down at his phone

J: Well I'm in LA tomorrow and I know where you live;) I could pick you up around 12 then we can go for lunch?

K: Sounds great, see you then:)

Katy

Shannon looked over at Katy "hey slut, who you texting?" Katy let out a quiet giggle "John! He just asked me if I wanted to get a drink sometime so I said yes and now he's picking me up tomorrow" Shannon gave her a slightly confused look then replied "wait John as in...John mayer? Didn't you go on a couple of dates with him?" "Yeah that John, he was really sweet but I guess I didn't really find him to be boyfriend material, we still texted after but then stopped and I don't really know why." "Well good luck with tomorrow then" Katy laughed "thanks bitch."

The next day.

Katy stared at herself in the mirror then made the last finishing touches on her makeup; she heard a knock on the door so she made her way through the hallway then opened it. John stood there looking, in Katy's opinion, amazing.

"Hey" John softly said then flashed Katy one of his charming smiles. "Hey!" Katy replied with a little giggle, she turned around and shut the door then made her way to John's car, "where are you taking me?" John laughed then walked to his car "To be honest I have no idea, I just thought we could go wherever" They both laughed then got in the car. "Sounds fun"
