Zoey's Pov

It's been two weeks since our last encounter with that arrogant man, and Emma never brought up the topic like it never really happened, which I find very unlike her.

Emma was done with her meeting, which they got the deal. After which we stayed a week, though we wanted to stay more but I had work to go back to or I'll be fired before I know it.

Being pregnant isn't easy, it's barely a month gone and the baby is already giving me back cramps. And with a very huge appetite, Emma usually suffers it all when I cried out every night for ice cream. She would rush down the street and get some for me.

"Don't blame me, it's all the baby's doing." I always use those words to save myself each time she glared at me.

"Hi Mr. Hart. How are you doing?" I asked a patient, while waiting to hear his response so I could document it in his folder.

Mr. Hart is a diabetic patient, who had a cut on his leg. But due to the fact that he has diabetes, the wound refused to heal and rather made the cut more bigger than it's normal size.

So I had no choice but to amputate that part of his leg that had the injury to avoid further complications. It's been the sixth day after his surgery, and he looks more healthy.

"I'm okay doctor Zoey, just looking forward to being discharge." He said with a huge smile, which I returned.

"I know sir, but you'll stay for some couple of days so we can confirm if you're fit to go. Is that okay?" I asked, and he gave a nod which I smiled at.

"Do you feel any pain?" I asked, jotting down some reviews on his folder.

"My head aches once in a while."

"Nurse, is his aspirin still remaining?" I asked the nurse assistant standing right next to me.

"No doctor."

"Okay, I'll write down some drugs and some painkillers to relieve you." I said to the man, I quickly documented the drugs he needed.

"Thank you doctor." He said, I smiled warmly at him.

I turned to the nurse beside me and handed her the folder before leaving the ward. Just then, my phone rang inside my coat. I pulled my hand gloves, slid my hand into my coat pocket and brought out my phone.

I suddenly became tensed on seeing the caller ID, it's my mom. I've been avoiding her calls for the past one week now, I'm not really ready to inform her that she'll be a grandmother pretty soon.

But on the other hand, sooner or later she'll find out. I can't keep avoiding her calls every now and then. I picked the call and placed it to my ear.

"Hi mom, good afternoon." I answered, waiting for her reply.

"Sweetie, what's on? You've not been picking my calls, are you alright?" She asked, concerned.
I calm myself, not to sound tensed.

"It's nothing mom, I'm fine. Just busy with work, that's all." I half lied.

I've been trying to deal with this pregnancy of a thing, and at the same time trying to deal with my workload.

See, too much work!

"Okay, I was worried. But try dropping a text when you don't reply. I'll really appreciate that."

"Okay mom."

"What about Julian?" She asked, and I froze for a moment there.

Mother is aware about my relationship with Julian, but I haven't told her that we're no longer together after I caught him cheating on me. I don't want to get her worried about how I am pulling through the heartbreak.
I'll tell her after a couple of weeks.
