It's impossible to hide from a Catwing.

Raven crouched under the bush, her long black hair falling onto her shoulders as her pony tail came loose. She glanced at her friend June, who was crouched beside her, looking outside with a wary look on her face.
"Are they gone?" she whispered, shuffling closer to June.
June glanced at her. "No. I can still hear them roaring outside. A few other people got caught with that blue one's tail. It was horrifying to watch," she said, shaking her head.
The ground shook as the greenish-brown one slithered by, her tail almost scratching Raven, who shuffled away from it in time. She's seen-from far away, of course, since she isn't an idiot-what that long, hidden stinger can do to someone.
June sighed. "Remember that guy with the weird name?"
Raven frowned. "Worm?"
June nodded. "Yeah, him. He's one of the ones who got Contaminated. I've seen him out there."
"Oh." A strange wave of sadness hit Raven. She didn't really know Worm, but from her brief interactions with him, he was condescending and rude, but he was also helpful and kind in certain situations, at least what Raven could see.
"How many Catwings are out there?" she asked her friend.
"At least three: those Triplets, and another black-and-white Catwing who has been slaughtering all the humans. A female, and probably the blue Catwing's mate."
Raven sat there, thinking for a bit. "That's weird."
June stared at her. "What?"
Raven shook her head, blinking. "I... nothing."
June narrowed her eyes. She could tell Raven had something in mind, but she decided not to ask. She turned her gaze back to outside, where the blue Catwing was slithering back to his camp.
Raven had a sudden feeling of deja vu. She had a feeling, that a bit more later, some special humans would arrive. She could see herself wondering about these people, and the way they would go through things that none of the people have experienced before.
These people could possibly change the island.
