Chapter 2
Percy yelled in shock. This was Kronos! Contrary to what Percy thought, Kronos looked a lot like Luke, just taller, the hair was black, and he had more muscles. He also had no eye scar. "Now, I know you have every reason to not trust me, but if you want to survive down here, you need my help." Percy was scrambling away from the titan lord. "Why would I trust you!!" "Because you need me. We have more in common than you think, Perseus. We were both exiled by the olympians. Betrayed by our own family. I was there in the background in the war against Gaea. When Annabeth's dagger hit the temple's ceiling, I was there to guide it. I kept the Hermes Express box in Arachne's cave. I guided Valdez to Lady Calypso, I gave DiAngelo Strength to exile Bryce Lawrance. I kept the Argo II together long enough to let the bronze dragon escape." "But- why?" "Being in Castellan's mind gave me a new point of view on what I had done.
But I also saw that I was past the point of no return. The reason we both are here? The gods simply don't know better. Don't do what I did. You may not get a chance at redemption like this." "What are you saying?" "Don't fade the olympians." Percy didn't understand. Is it possible to force an immortal to fade? His thought was interrupted, as he looked at his arm, and saw a small stream of gold flowing from an open wound on his shoulder. He said, "Why is my blood gold? Wait..." "Yes. Zeus made you immortal to suffer for what the Eidolon did." "Wait, Eidolon?" "Yes. you were possessed by an Eidolon named Mark Antony." (TRUST ME, IT WILL MAKE SENSE) Percy thought about that. It made perfect sense. An Eidolon had possessed him, and caused him to destroy Camp Half-Blood and murder Chiron. And Antony... Didn't he serve in Rome during Julius Caeser's reign? Something about Egypt as well. Percy said,
"Who does he serve?" Kronos replied with, "We don't know. My lord was hoping you could help us fight the rising threat. Well, he knows, but won't tell us until you come to the palace." "Who is your lord?" "The creator. Now come." Then they walked through the pit of Tartarus, stopping at the shrine of Hermes. Kronos led Percy into the middle of the shrine, and there was a platter of exquisite Medium rare steaks, A bowl of Peanut M and M's, Another platter, this one with asparagus, and a bottle of wine. Kronos lead Percy to the dining table. Wait- dining table? There wasn't a dining table there before. But here one sat, made of imperial gold, and a tablecloth woven from the finest of silk. And who would be sitting there but the titan lord of the west, Bob.
"PERCY!!" Bob yelled. Percy ran up to hug him. Kronos smiled warmly, and set out the food. He poured a goblet of wine for Himself, Bob, and Percy. Celestial bronze plates were set out by Kronos, and we all got a helping of the food. As we ate, We traded stories. Bob talked about how he had escaped from the deity tartarus, and after their next encounter, Bob agreed to stay in the pit to let Damasen escape to the earth with the drakon and Small Bob. Kronos talked about how he had regenerated after about ten minutes, and then used his powers to help our journey. Finally, Percy speaks of Antony's possession, the bully son of Zeus, and how the gods banished him here. Bob said, "If Chiron is a centaur, and centaurs are monsters, he must be down here!"
Percy was relieved. If he could find Chiron, and Chiron could convince the gods that Percy was innocent- No, the gods needed to be out of power. Chiron probably hated Percy anyway, so he wouldn't even try to convince the gods. Percy said, "So, where are we going after this?" Kronos said, "You will finally meet the Creator." Bob said, "Really? You would take him to-" Kronos hissed, "Don't say his name! Names have power, especially that one!" Bob said, "so the Creator and the protogenoi? I would assume you will have him help them remove the Olympians from power? No. It's too risky to give a mortal that much power." "Percy then used a steak knife to slice his wrist. "Who said that I'm mortal?" Bob yelped in surprise. Kronos burst out laughing.
Bob was ghostly pale. Percy studied the room. On the wall, there was a tapestry of Ares stabbing Halirrhothius. Probably the work of Arachne. Bob looked at Percy like he had just strangled a puppy. Percy said, "Yeah, Zeus made me a god so that I could suffer for all eternity. From what I saw, Hera, Dionysus, and Artemis agreed with him. The rest knew that I was possessed, but Zeus and the gang wouldn't have any of it. And since Zeus is the king of the gods, they wouldn't dare argue. I was unconscious during the whole "Getting me up to Olympus" part of that, but I woke up about a minute before my banishment. Just as Zeus was sentencing me to 'Eternity in the deepest part of Tartarus!! MUAHAHA!'. Anyway, here we are." Bob said, "Zeus sent you here after an eidolon possessed you, and now you're a god? What are your domains?" Percy pondered this. "I don't know. I think I'm a god of liquid." Kronos looked like he was thinking. Percy was also thinking. "So, when do we meet this 'Creator'?" Kronos said, "Right now." Suddenly, the temple started to melt away. I felt a serious need to hurl, so I closed my eyes to try to ease my digestive system. It worked, and when I opened them, I was in front of a giant castle, the size of which would make the Olympians jealous. The thing had an entire city inside.
I saw Arachne selling tapestries, a manticore in a lion tamer suit was selling hellhounds. There were monsters of every sort wandering about. Several buildings had No Eidolons Allowed!! Written on the front. There were several titans and minor gods wandering around, buying things, socializing with emposai, and laughing at monsters. Eventually, we got to a large gold and bronze door. We entered through the gate, and got into a large palace. It was amazing, and that doesn't even come close to the size and beauty of this place. There were titans, and a few primordial gods wandering about. One with dark blue hair and sea green eyes was looking at me. Almost- Studying me. We went through another set of doors, and entered a large council chamber. On the main throne sat a tall man, in a set of shiny steel armor, with celestial bronze tips for the fingers, and a silk cape. His eyes were like galaxies, stars and nebulas burning bright.
Kronos and Bob kneeled, so I decided it would be a good idea to do so as well. Kronos stood back up and said, "Lord Chaos, we bring you Perseus Jackson, as you wanted." Most of the gods on the council were observing with interest. Not quite pleasure. I recognized a few. Such as mystery blue guy, Nyx, Tartarus, and- GAEA? She noticed my face and chuckled. Chaos spoke, "Perseus. I assume you know why you are here?" "Not really?" Chaos let a grin pass onto his face. "Well, you are here because we need somebody to stop the force of evil that resides in my universe. He goes around, corrupting my children, the protogenoi, all in an attempt to seize control of creation. The only way to free them of corruption is to kill them, as you have done, and wait for them to regenerate." "So, nobody here wants me dead? Okay."
Percy sighed in relief. If nobody would try to kill him, he was okay with them as well. Besides- who would want to pick a fight with a counsel of the most powerful beings in the universe? Certainly not Percy. Not now anyway. "So... Why am I here?" Chaos laughed and said, "You are here because you were outcast by the olympians. You are also an extremely powerful demigod who may help guide us to victory against my evil brother. His name is End." The other protogenoi burst out in loud discussion, and Kronos was pale as a ghost. From the council I heard, "WHAT?!", "BLASPHEMY!!" And even a few, "HUH?!?!"s. Percy certainly thought that fighting the brother of Chaos himself would be difficult. Chaos boomed, "Order. ORDER. EVERYBODY SHUT UP!!!!!!" On that last one, they obeyed.
"I have a plan. Percy here is loyal to those he wishes to protect. He will protect the universe and his loved ones at any cost. I would like to make a motion to bless him with all of our power. Gaea, Nyx, Chronos, Kronos, Bob, Hyperion, Blue guy, Tartarus, Somebody with white hair, gold robes and neon green eyes all said, "I second that motion." The rest all agreed. Chaos looked at me and asked, "Will you accept this power?" Percy thought about that for a moment. "Yes. I accept." "Okay. this will hurt. A lot. I'm talking about extreme, agonizing pain. Brace." Percy prepared to the best of his ability, but as the beams from each of the protogenoi hit, He cried out in pain. Then his world went dark.
