Chapter 10: Always and forever

2 weeks later

Layla's POV

I had just woken up from one of the best nights of sleep I've ever had! That's probably because I'm in Asher's arms.

The past two weeks have been more peaceful. Jasmine has almost fully recovered, Asher and I are super close and I can go to sleep without any reminder of Jason. Asher is still a bit protective over me, and it's nice. Also, Cameron and Jasmine have been hanging out a bit more than what I've seen but apparently they've always been together that much.

I felt Asher's arms tighten around my waist. He's cute, but I need a glass of water. I don't want to wake him up though...so I'll do what he did to me!

I managed to wriggle out of his arms and I put the pillow in my place instead. He hugged onto it tightly and I laughed quietly. Just as I stood up from the bed, I was pulled down. I looked up to see Asher hovering over me, with that even messier hair of his. Is it just me or is it getting hot in here?

Asher: Don't you know not to play with me like that? It's so early in the morning.

His voice is so hot...

Layla: That was revenge for when you did that to me.

I pushed myself up but he pushed me back down.

Asher: Where do you think you're going?
Layla: I need a glass of water. I'm thirsty.
Asher: That can wait a few minutes.
Layla: Teddybear~

He blushed and suddenly pressed his lips on me. I kissed him back. His arm went around my waist and he pulled me up against him.

Asher: Now you've woken me up completely.
Layla: So does that mean I can go drink some water now?
Asher: Yeah, you can.

Asher stood up and pulled me up with him. I gave him a kiss on his cheek and got myself some water. Afterwards, I joined him back in his bed. He smiled as he put his arms around my waist and put his head in the crook of my neck.

That evening

Third person

They had all gone out to dinner at a fancy-ish restaurant. They were busy eating. While Layla was eating, her hair had fallen infront of her face. Asher put her hair behind her ear and she smiled. While Asher continued eating, he got some food on his cheek.

Layla: Teddybear?
Asher: Yes Princess?
Layla: You messed on your cheek.
Asher: Oh, thanks.

Asher wiped his cheek but he missed it. Layla picked up a serviette and wiped it for him. Asher kissed her cheek.

Layla: You did that on purpose, didn't you?
Asher: Maybe I did, or maybe I didn't.

Jasmine and Talia were fangirling while Jake was smiling.

When they finished eating their food, Layla got up to use the restroom.

Jake: You ready?
Asher: Ready as I'll ever be. I am kinda nervous though.
Jasmine: Don't be! Just pretend as if we aren't here.
Asher: That might be hard to do but I'll try.
Talia: She's coming back.

Layla sat back down and looked at them.

Layla: Did I interrupt something?
Talia: No, you didn't.
Asher: *clears throat* P-princess, I have something to tell you.
Layla: Okay, what is it?
Asher: Layla, I...

Asher looked to his family and they gave him reassuring looks. He looked back to Layla who gave him a curious and confused look. He took a deep breath and held her hands in his.

Asher: Laylia, you're the most amazing girl I've ever met. You're so kind, beautiful and you make me a better person. You're the only one who can bring me out of my comfort zone and I love that. I love that it's easy to trust you. You've always had a spark deep inside of you. When you showed me the fire inside, that made me love you way more than I already did. We started out as best friends and now we're dating, but I'd like to take things to the next level...if you're ready.

Asher bent down on one knee and held out a ring box with his family ring.

Layla: That's your family ring...
Asher: Yes. If anyone is going to wear this, I want it to be you. I'll be with you through everything, whether it's good or bad. I still want to be your best friend, apart from Jas, whom you can go to about anything and everything. But I also want to be the person to love and take care of you. Layla Gavin, would you do the honour of making me the happiest man in the world by being my wife?

Layla stared at him with teary eyes.

Layla: Yes! A million times yes!

They hugged and kissed. Everyone in the restaurant clapped for them.

Jasmine: This long awaited day has finally come!
Talia: That was so sweet!

Talia wiped her tears as Jasmine saved the video and pictures of them. Talia and Jake hugged Layla. Jasmine hugged Layla tightly.

Jasmine: We're finally going to be sisters!!
Layla: Yeah!
Jasmine: I WILL be the Maid of Honour.
Layla: I don't think I have much of a say in that.

They laughed and Jasmine let go of Layla. Asher put the ring on her ring finger and wiped her joyful tears with his thumb.

Layla: I love you, and I will always and forever.

They kissed again. They knew what they wanted for their future. They knew that they wanted to grow old together. Asher and Layla knew they'd love each other, always and forever.
