*Sherri*
Things were different, I was different now. Every single morning since I lost Corey, I was different and the fact that part of my life delivered so much pain, I didn't want to revisit it.
It was best that I left D' and Farrah behind. The good and the bad and for that, I knew it would keep them safe. Ave was constantly busy and we were constantly on the move. For months, we'd been on the run with just a few of his guys and Jess. He was having private meetings with his brother to give him false leads to test his loyalty. Ave was sure he was running back and delivering information to their father and for that, I know I was still in danger. Ave had me studying on the girl's letters, the Asiah woman from my dreams. She was a huge part of her kingdom and like her father being a vampire king, so was my Aveion.
We'd been in Iowa for a few weeks now, closer to the birthplace of Asiah White, her marriage last name although she was married to a werewolf king and a vampire king, it all made since because she had several parts to her. One thing about her, she was very powerful, and it matched the mates she had. Aveion was powerful...he was royal just as Asiah's husbands were and yes, once more, I said two men. He'd already arrived, I could hear his voice...feel his presence although he was outside our room. The second the door opened I felt a rush of desire come over me causing my legs to clamp with desire. I couldn't be still...my body was coming alive from something similar to a coma state as I sat, staring out the window at the country surroundings of huge trees and forest like setting.
"Ciao Bella"
His smile captured my heart, how sweet he'd speak to me in different languages, and it was a lesson, I understood it all but the biggest was when he'd speak in Arabic or Latin. I recognized the change and finally, I welcome it.
"Hi," I smiled back, trying to hold it but it was too late. We'd already connected on that emotion.
"How's my queen this morning, breakfast?" He offered up a nice tray of foods just like he always delivered them, every morning.
"I'm fine and yes, breakfast." I felt my tummy grumble as if he was asking it.
We both sat at the same time, ate and drank. He was quiet and I can admit, I was too.
"What's wrong, Ave?"
He wasn't the type to spill, I had to pull it out of him.
"work" He replied. I had no idea he worked...he just seemed, rich.
