AY'LANI

"So how you like it?" I asked this new customer I got today. She wanted a synthetic wig put on.

"You could of did better with melting the wig, but it's alright." I scrunched up my face. "Here." She handed me money. I counted it out before she walked out the shop.

"You short $200." I told her.

"You didn't do my hair well enough to get paid in full." She said turning around looking at me.

"Jasmine lock the door. Kira close the blinds. And you bitch bring your ass here to get this synthetic ass wig taken off since I didn't do well enough."

"Are you out your mind? This is my wig?"

"That I put on. What you tryina do?" I was standing in front of her with my hands crossed.

"Here. I don't got time to go to jail today." She gave me the rest of my money.

"Thank you." She tried to walk out the door but got hit with it instead. "You gotta unlock it first remember." I said laughing along with the rest of the shop. She rolled her eyes and left.

"I don't know why females think its okay to try and cheat a bitch out they money." Jasmine said. I nodded my head agreeing with her.

"7 years doing hair, you'll think bitches will show you some respect." I said sitting down in my chair.

"They can't if they ain't got respect for themselves." Kira said.

Jasmine and Kira was my bitches at this shop. When I started working here I was getting mean mugs from left to right cause of how my clientele was doing. Jasmine and Kira was some real bitches and congratulated me. We went for drinks and we been tight since.

The shop we work at is called, Fab Central. It's owned by Atlanta's favorite, Magic Rose.

"Hey bitches, I hope I'm not disturbing the peace." And in she walked. Magic was this known hair stylist that does a couple of celebrities hair. And to her you gotta really know how to do hair, and to let her run you like a train.

"That's my cue to go." I got up and started packing my things and cleaning my station. Magic rubbed me the wrong way when I first met her. I knew working at her shop though would be good for my clientele as well as getting my name out there.

"Why every time I come you try to leave in a hurry?" Magic was at my station trying to be a concern boss with that fake ass look she always have on her face.

"To avoid having conversations with you." I told her truthfully and went back to cleaning.

"I know you don't like me, and for some reason I just love the fact that you don't. That's why I keep you around. I feed off negativity, and yours is just the top of the ice berg for me." She smirked then walked away. I rolled my eyes.

"When you gone get your own shop and stop working for her. It's clear she's jealous of you and everything you have to offer." Kira said once Magic was in the back.

"When I get my money right." Was all I said. I'm 23 with one child. I started doing hair 7 years ago to feed myself. I left my parents house at a young age due to how I was "living my life" as they would say. I haven't spoken to them in years. They never met they grandchild, and I really don't care. It's always been me and Ty'lani. If I didn't have that child lord knows where I would be right now.

"Facetime me when you pick her up. You know I love to see her at school." Jasmine said. I cut off my ring light.

"I will. See you guys later. I might be back if this client change her mind." I looked at my phone at my schedule. Magic came out from the back. I rolled my eyes.
